When the Simpson started, it was like wat da phuq?

You knew they were playing with you. Very George Orwell but done in comedy. Orwell sought to addict you and gently. The geeks who right the Simpson, clearly privy to the sort of information Orwell was, its almost as if though they enjoyed phuqing with us and making us laugh while doing it.

Sad fact is, everyone who watches telly since is dumbed down to cartoon level intelligence

there are cartoons in the morning (theres way more channels now) but I don't believe any shows like aggros cartoon connection or cheez TV exist

Aggros was the best.

Staying sick home from school = smurfs. Lalalalalalala lalalalala

May have been late eighties but there was the Super Saturday Show with Agro as well.

They had this great segment called "Meal of Fortune". Celebrities would spin a wheel (like on Wheel of Fortune) filled with various gross "meals". They were then asked a trivia question and if they got it wrong they'd have to eat the "meal".

Quality stuff.

I can't remember whether it was late 80s or early 90s but Nothing Ever Matters by Del Amitri struck a chord with my teenaged ennui. Song still sounds good thirty odd years later.

Nothing Ever Happens? (Unless they did some mash up with Metallica) 😁

Why the hell did agro's cartoon connection get canned anyway? The thing I loved most wasn't the cartoons, it was the interaction between the host ann maree and the puppet. Didn't the guy who controlled that puppet get in trouble for sexually harassing ann maree (or was it the other blonde host that came after her)?

Cheez TV killed it in the ratings apparently.

Have still got their original album- the one with "I want you". Got some great songs on there, Break me Shake me probably my fave.

Santa Monica - underrated song to cry yourself to sleep to

Yeah Cheez TV came along in 1995 and by 1997 it was definitely dominant, all the rage, barely any kids were still watching Agro then. By 1997 there were some kids who only watched Channel 10. Agro's heyday was the early 90s. Cheez TV with Jade & Ryan on-air managed a good decade (I think One Piece was one of their last zeitgeisty cartoons carrying over into Toasted TV, before an ailing Ten inevitably made an attempt to join the breakfast TV fray). I remember watching Teknoman on Cheez TV around the time it began, but it definitely became must-see come Pokemon (1998) and Dragon Ball Z (very start of school in 2000), plus there were a lot of other fun cartoons.

The Big Breakfast (who later went on to do the more compact and successful Big Arvo) sort of transitioned morning cartoons into Breakfast tv, and from memory there was a music clip show for a period in 2000. Sunrise didn't really get a foothold until the 2000 Olympics, and then come 2001 it felt like it belonged a bit. Kochie took over from Reason by early 2003 from memory, and then Sunrise had a few iconic years before no one could stand it anymore.

Early 90s reminds me of going to double headers of the SANFL at Football Park and trying to sneak into the members.... being excited to have McDonalds.... My love of footy and West Coast due to Peter Sumichs big hooking left foot and Peter Materas bursts along the wing... 92/94 Premierships... Going to USA... finishing primary school and being scared about starting high school and in the mid late 90s not thinkikng school was that bad... late 90s alcohol... travelling interstate alot for footy weekends... getting a job... getting actual money... getting licence/car.

Absolutely LOVED the 90s and everything it brought.

Just loved the colours and Sumich and didnt know any real footy fans to be influenced by Crow crap.

I started going to random crows ganes with mum to get a footy fix and she became totally hooked and is now a 26 year member has AO tix and regularly travels to interstate to follow her crow boys as she calls them[emoji1787]
