ITT a bunch of male posters lecture a female poster and mother about her views being a misogynistic attack on women. I've never subscribed to the notion of "mansplaining" but if ever there were an example, this thread is it.

To put the narrative to rest, men and women largely agree when it comes to views on abortion in the US.

As with most things its usually 50/50, middle ground has to be found but right now people are arguing for total ban, claiming the alternative is walk in abortions to the duration of full term. Which is false.

The abortions beyond the specified week are only if there is significant health risk to the child, the mother or both and only the mother can decide.

Both sides of this argument are guilty of twisting truths and exaggerating, the common sense approach is a middle ground and safe process in place.

But this is America. It wont happen. When you have a president claim openly to a crowd that a women can execute her child RIGHT AFTER ITS BORN and have his followers cheer and believe this crap you are literally pushing s**t up a hill.

It is almost as though people share the same values when they live in similar areas, regardless of gender.

Who would have thought?

That slight increase in pro choice women doesn't surprise me, would be mostly due to the rise of Trump.

Yeah cos only men voted for these senators.

The governor that signed the bill into law was a female too.

Even though people like to purport it to be a war on women by men the majority of people that appear to be prolife are women themselves.

It’s mad brother...******* mad. So the New Testament requires this intervention by the State but the provision of health care is abominable to God.

The blokes who make the women pregnant are not penalised by this law - it IS a war on women

Agree the pro choice people are *******s! As I say accept that it’s killing and make the arguments to help prevent unwanted pregnancies - also most people would support a morning after pill but are not keen on late term abortions - this is middle ground that could be explored

Again, you deflect that the society should have responsibility for the child created by adults who know how it works. The adult is responsible for their actions. Society shouldn't be wrapping everyone up with bubble wrap and get out of situation free cards by ending inconvenient human lives. You make choices, things happen, you're responsible for that.

You're believing the propaganda on this law, find the part where it will send women to prison for getting an abortion... It's doctors doing it who would be prosecuted.

Answer yes or no There is no penalty in the Legislation for women having an abortion? Every time you dissemble an angel cries

I assume you are a Christian you have a particularly atavistic conception of society

It absolutely is, it's quite acceptable that a pregnancy is ended where the life of the mother is at risk. Losing two is never chosen over saving one.

Not her financial or convenience risk though.

I heard a stat this morning that said the number of women who died from illegal abortions in the year prior to the decision in the supreme court making it legal was 39, and proportional to the number who died in legal abortions. Abortions carry a risk and the pro-abortion side love dancing in the margins of rape, incest and coat hangers in alleyways.

There are people upset that something with a heart beat and human DNA can't be killed. Those are also the people who shower themselves with virtue over it.

Once we have the technology to remove a life from a mother and allow it to grow then the this next debate will be cloned humans being harvested for organs, whether using induced microcephaly humans for growing organs is ethical.

Drawing lines for life based on convenience is dangerous.

Yeh yeh you “ read somewhere” that they where”proportional” - one would happen in a surgery with doctors and the other does not - the proportion would be ten to one

By making it illegal you are killing women - plain and simple but it’s ok - they are not “innocent life”

So you have a law that penalises females for having an abortion - how is that equal opportunity

Are you talking about the new rules in Alabama m8? There is no punishment for a woman who gets an abortion, just the doctor who conducts the abortion. Those pesky facts!

What if they don't want to sit at the adult table?

Interesting question. The rights of an adult wouldn't be given, primarily agency over themselves, whoever is made responsible for them will be able to deny them any freedom under the guise of keeping them safe from themselves.

Perhaps that is what society is trying to do already, handing responsibility to the government.

There are 140,000 second trimester abortions a year in the USA. Does nobody care about them because most of them are black?

How many human lives ended is acceptable for some existing women to not be inconvenienced?

What world do you live in - it’s not Lord of the Flies out there - America is a s**t hole and the abject heresy of Manifest Destiny and The Prosperity Gospel have prevented it from being a Christian country - all the love brother

Unless all these legislators fall into a volcano simultaneously, a black market of backyard abortions will emerge where women will die.

This is the ultimate in virtue signalling. Passing laws to demonstrate a Christian piety while ignoring social welfare in states with extraordinary poverty and mortality statistics.
