I can't say I've heard as such, i wouldn't speak for the team.

I thought there is plenty of crowd particpation and inclusion with teammates through out the round. Why can't two blokes also do something of their own volition to celebrate who they are? As Jetta intended to do so as well.
So your anti-line dance then?

Why then after the apology and knowing her age he came out the following day and declared her the new face of racism.
To make a point that it could be ("innocent") children who don't understand the type of hurt they might be inflicting upon others which is a sad state of affairs. He is educating the public to the fact that we should teach our children about these things and helping to raise awareness. It does not mean he wants to grill this 13 year old girl and make her LITERALLY the face of racsim. Holy **** so hard to comprehend...

That is entirely the ******* point. If you willingly give your voice to a racist cause - which you are doing if you knowingly increase the sound a group of racists are making towards Goodes - then you are acting in a racist manner. You are supporting what the racists are doing.

This is very, very simply. You knowingly and willfully help out a racist cause, you can be considered one.
What, 2 racists? I've been to hundreds of footy matches, and have never heard a single racist jibe so naturally I'm under the perception there aren't many racists to be "supported".

Also, I don't need to concern myself with other peoples' motivations, nobody does.

Name a white player that has done what Goodes has done? There is no comparison to the accumulation of dislike for Adam Goodes.
Name me another black player who gets booed like Goodes?
Carey shagged his best mates wife did he get booed by opposition supporters everytime he got near it? Jobe Watson and the whole Essendon team don't get constantly booed each week even though they're drug cheats, Goodes gets booed because he stands up for racial issues

Love Ross. Champion bloke. Got it wrong here. Towing the party line of irrational thought for club PR.

We'll never know how many of these AFL figureheads coming out really believe their words. It's a competition now to appear most tolerant for the media scrutiny of staying silent.
It seems more and more people are buying into the rubbish that "If you boo Goodes, you are a racist". It keeps being put forward without any real evidence other than "I can't see why else you would boo Goodes", with any rebuttal dismissed as unconvincing in the eyes of those accusers. The test of racist behaviour should not be so subjective. The question is whether any reasonable opposition supporter (before this whole furore broke out) may want to boo Goodes at a footy match for reasons other than racism. There are plenty of these, some of which are already listed in the poll for this thread. And let's face it, boo'ing has traditionally been part of footy and supporters don't need too many reasons to start boo'ing a player. Secondly, if you want to allege someone (or a large section of the population) is racist, you should have to prove it to a reasonable extent - otherwise it's plain and simple defamation to that person and ironically a form of bullying in itself. The burden of proof should be on those making such accusations.

Yep, lets continue to shame a child who made an innocent mistake and apologised for it.

He said he thought she was about 14, so he clearly knew she was a child.

He would, or should have known, that his actions would have her evicted and it would get national media coverage - it was a nationally televised game at the MCG, he then went on to call her the face of racism in this country at a prepared speech at a press conference post-match. He had no qualms about what he did, he thought it was ok to do that to a child. Many people think the opposite.
No arguments with any of that. She was the face of racism that night. Racism was the issue, the girl presented it.

She should have known better.

Also quick question, can anyone tell me why no one of her family on the night left their seat also and accompanied her? I can't remember reading about that.

I hear she was alone and with secuity and police etc seems quite bizarre.

He has stated many times until then he was fine with it, but i think we can all agree the mob bullying intensified from this week onwards.

He specifically attributes it to this race incident and doesn't think the booing is normal reasonable use of the boo which he has stated he has no issue with.
It intensified because that dance insulted the fans. He needs to come out and apologise saying it wasn't his intention to insult the fans and it was meant in good spirit. The booing will subside then I suspect.

In the end the fans pay his wages and he insults them like that. What would happen if you insulted your customers?

Don't pleasure yourself that you offended me. I don't get offended by morons.

You have differing views to my own. Believe it or not I can cop that. It's your clear lack of empathy towards Goodes and that you'd continue to boo just to "shit people like me" that shows how small-minded you are. Self evident.
Clearly you are, given you've been provoked into insults because someone holds an opinion that conflicts with yours.

You're a complete bigot and you don't even realize it. Again, hypocrisy.

I love these "imagine" scenarios

Imagine if the kid who yelled "Ape" was a 13 year old kid from China at his first AFL game. He then gets pointed out by Goodes, escorted out of the football and get labeled as the face of racism.
Ooh, i've got one!

Imagine if the 13 year old kid who yelled ape was ACTUALLY an ape which had been given a given a serum from a mad scientist which made him super smart and able to talk, and he'd escaped and put on clothes and gone to the footy!

Eh?! Like he'd BE an ape, calling someone an ape... is it racist?

This tread has gone way beyond a parody of itself. Normally i'd worry about derailing it, but really, you can't derail a thread that already crashed on page 1.

Lol I was talking about against Geelong. The guy I was quoting was a Geelong poster. Read.
ummmm

There are different reasons for booing Goodes - that much is certain. If it continues, and if you go to the game and boo this weekend, you are an absolute moron and I don't care what your opinion is of him. The bloke has taken indefinite leave from the club and is obviously not in the right headspace. If people boo him from now on, you are an absolute bully and moron with no regard for Goodes' mental health. The mind is a fragile place.

Well... I wonder why ??????????? What did he expect would happen ?

If it was not directed at the Carlton fans ....why was the booing even an issue ? He can't even lie straight!

Once again - he shot his mouth (or spear throwing arm ) off before he thought about the consequences.

He never crossed the boundary line, he never followed through with the action of throwing the boomerang.

How they could feel threatened is beyond me.
