Perhaps some people feel good when they show empathy and compassion for others. It's a fairly universal human trait.
Right you are. I feel it for so so many of the indigenous peoples around this country. Listed some of my favourites many a time in this thread and previous ones stretching back to march. Don't worry, you ignored it for convenience of your arguments :)

I have no problem strongly disliking what one indigenous person, Adam, brings to the table. And still being secure I am not a bigoted sort to consider an entire segment of my fellow citizens in the crowd last week racists purely on speculation. But then again, I am not insane like Andrew Pridham, or emotional like many of you on the bandwagon of hating some of your own to protect the long protected species himself.

Could've taken someone's eye out.
You're not stupid so don't act stupid.

Tribal dances are designed to get a response and work on primal instinct.

Like the Haka.

Given that football is probably the most tribal thing left in modern Australian society it's inevitable that people concluded that it was a divisive act aimed at them instead of just Adam Goodes wanting to celebrate his culture (which I'm 100% sure was his only intention).

It should be done before the match begins and not as a goal celebration.

It was indigenous round. You're saying he shouldn't have celebrated his culture in Indigenous round in such a way because it could've offended people. Does that not say more about those who claim to have been offended?

Think of the shark, though. He was just swimming around, minding his own business, then, whack! Fanning on top of him.
The shark, which may I remind you, does not have hands, was merely feeling around, the only way it could - with its teeth, when it was punched, no, lets call it what it was, maliciously assaulted by this surfer, and he claims he was the victim? Political correctness gone mad!

No.

I'm saying that there is a reason the Haka isn't aimed at the crowd.

A tribal dance aimed at primal instincts and emotions drawing out primal reactions is inevitable.

So we can't boo Adam Goodes because that's racist?

But we can boo other players and officials because that's not racist? or we can't boo them because that's racist against whites?

Can we boo Rioli or Jetta or Betts or any other indigenous player is that racist too because they are a different skin colour to me?

This whole thing is very confusing.

What if I want to boo Adam Goodes because he plays for Sydney and I don't like Sydney, does that make me racist?

Ok. So why are all his friends standing up for him saying that he is hurt by the booing. He sees the booing as a racist attack. If not, then he should come out and say so, then all the media hysteria can calm down. Why not be honest about things then if its not racist? Explain to the people why. Create some two way discussion about it. Otherwise it's just creating a media shit storm.
No. I'm sorry, you claiming Goodes didn't do enough to assure everyone that it wasn't racist doesn't back up your statement. Goodes hasn't made this about race from the start. You are wrong.

Do you honestly think it was intended to aim at primal instincts and start a war though?

it's an opinion poll. a tally of completely subjective opinions. how can it possibly be 'drivel' or wrong or anything else?
I think he's trying to claim that the AFL community have "objective" opinions on the matter of if Goodes being bood is racial....

I hope hes not that stupid, but it appears to be his meaning.
