I was thinking today when Harley and Scarlo both ran down the field, how good has Egan has become, how quickly have these guys learnt to rely on him. Every week he seems to take brave mark or three. Yes he is still raw, yes he make some blues when the ball is in transition but he gives us a flexablity that we didnt have last year against Brisbane (as long as Harley plays). Considering that he hasnt really played a lot of footy one has to wonder how good can he get?

An absolute steal.

Makes an enormous difference to the structure because it frees up a Mooney or Milburn to roam and Harley and Scarlett to run off their opponents.

yeah i was watching him today and i really rate him as a player, hes gonna be something special IMO.
when we drafted him i was abit iffy but to get him at pick 50 something is an absolute steal. considering how rare good full backs are i think in only 10 games or so we have found a replacement for scarlett in the long term and in the shirt term another quality backman

He is literally improving by the day.
Almost by the quarter. I really like him.
Even when he stuffs up you can tell he learns his lesson straight away, and with Harley back and Mooney in good form, our backline is looking very strong again.

it's almost a pity that richo's career is winding down... i would have enjoyed seeing a great rivalry develop between them. He's not scared to get hands on with the big forwards, either. Brown gave him some encouragement after that Brisbane debacle earlier in the season.

Super player. It just adds another dimension to our backline. I rated him from the first time i saw him play.

Said it once, will say it again. Bring on St Kilda's forward line. I think we can mathc them.

I watched Egos game closely on Sunday and I noticed that everytime the ball looked like coming in to the forward line Stafford would forget about the ball and charge straight at Scarlett. Egan used his smarts and instead of letting Stafford get the block on to Scarlett he would block Stafford and even put him to ground. This just shows the bloke has a good football brain.
Egan is going to be a solid contributer to our side over the next 5 - 10 years.

Bingo. Aside from being a really smart defender, allows these blokes to go forward or into the midfield and create some really difficult match-ups. Has been a big part of Dasher's great season.

Agree with all, i find that even when he makes a stupid mistake etc i don't get mad with him, quality defenders r hard to find so i am pretty patient with him, as said already he is improving by the minute, has a real crack and has plenty of courage, one of the real suprise packets this year.

Has been fantastic! In round 1 he threw himself in front of a Richo lead and got crunched, the toughness is still there and the rest of his game is improving all the time
