Was it effective? Maybe as an a intimidatory tactic
Do you hope they do it again? I hope its a one off.

I know they were not expecting it, but I was really disappointed in our player's response to this on Friday night. If I had been on the field (OK a long bow to draw there) but as soon as that national anthem was finished I would have run straight over and started a fight.

There had to be some sort of strong response, and it didn't happen.

What would you do?

I'd get on big footy stat and create a thread dedicated to just that very question.

That's what I'd do.

Lol.

It was 23 guys standing there, nothing more nothing less. It didn't look intimidating, if anything it looked awkward.

Geelong have been doing a similar thing for a decade. Cats players never link arms at the anthem and they've discussed it as a show of strength. It's not quite what Adelaide did but I doubt it would work against Geelong next up.

Just hope the Crows don't start linking arms.

Looked very unusual....there are few greater sights in football than the lads linked arm in arm for the anthem....outrageous scenes by the Crows

They better be careful if they do it in another final and then get done. Very embarrassing look.

I can think of several:
Kicking a goal
Kicking the winning goal after the siren
Taking a "speccy" mark
Winning a grand final
Laying the perfect tackle
Coast to coast goal.......

So 20 years ago, both teams would just stand there.

Then some teams started to link arms... "OMG WOWEE THEY ARE LINKING ARMS THIS IS REVOLUTIONARY AND SO GREAT LIKE BROTHERS IN ARMS AT WAR GOING INTO BATTLE SHEESH BAZINGAH"

Now every team link arms before anthems and one team decides to unlink arms and its now like "OMG WOWEE THEY ARE JUST STANDING THERE ITS BLOODY INTIMIDATING AND BRUTAL THIS IS THE MODERN DAY HAKA OMG THIS IS TRULY BATTLE WORTH STUFF LIKE A REAL WAR BOMBS AND LAND MINES IN THE G TYPE STUFF"

give me a ******* break pal
