Use public transport

Train at showgrounds every fifteen minutes. Train leaving city every fifteen. Less than ten from city

Might have to! Was speaking to someone who just paid $40 for parking. No idea where though but that is just crazy

probably close to the showgrounds, we usually park in the parklands, i think its $15 to park there, we used to park on south tce, but they changed into 2 hour parking

Thanks for that! Might take a look at that option instead. Will have my 3 year old with me so the less public transport the better.

Is that just in this spot? Ill be heading in via Henley Beach Road/West Tce/Anzac Hwy so that spot should be good

thats where we parked last year, the other carpark was a bog, easy to get in and out of

Last show i went to was the Darwin Show 2 years ago, had my car window smashed in the carpark by some drunken locals walking to the bus stop looking for change, and Nan got mugged in the bathroom. Keen for a good experience here in Adelaide :)

I can see why the show is a card skimmer's heaven. There was just thousands of people walking around with their bank cards in their hand, paywaving everything they wanted. Would have made it so easy

The show was really great for me and the son. Had a great time walking around, was a lot bigger than i expected. The fireworks were great, everyone there was in good spirits, he loved all the kids rides, and there was more than enough to do to fill an afternoon. I guess by the second or third time i go I will be over it though

I haven't been to the show since the year began with a 1.

This.

Never used to go for the choccy and lolly showbags.

I remember getting the " Action Aussie Force " showbag a few times and i remember getting a " Dukes of Hazzard " one as a young 'un.

I haven't been since 2006. It's really not worth the price tag. The rides are rustic, showbags are overpriced and tacky. The only thing I really enjoyed back in the day was the animals but the entry fee isn't justified. Bertie Beetle was the only showbag worth getting. I'm pretty sure the show and online are the only places you can purchase any product.

I went tripping on acid once which didn't end all that well, suffered a bit of a sensory overload.

Went to a day/nighter between the Redbacks and i forget on Acid.

Spent more time looking up at the clouds than the game , do recall Blewy tonning up though.

I can see cricket and acid being quite complimentary. Will keep that in mind come Test time.

we haven't paid for the last few years, my wife usually wins tickets, which is a plus, dont buy show-bags or go on rides, just enjoy going

Just on the card thing
we now think it did not happen at the show

We thought it might've happened when I purchased something online two weeks earlier, but the company is a global reputable company so it was unlikely but obviously possible....yet I made the purchase and stuff didn't happen till 17 days later, so unlikely, but still possible
On the actually cc transactions it was always uber
I've never used uber, never signed up to uber...nothing uber in our lives at all, never even googled uber
And there was numerous transactions, ended up being 14 or so of them all ranging from 4 bucks up to 25 ish
When a couple actually cleared it showed up that it was from Indonesia

Then we remembered while driving down to the show we were behind this car in the right lane for a few mins who was being a dick and doing 65 in the 80 down main north road
Me being the patient driver I am was sitting up his ass
The Mrs commented it's like he was actually doing it on purpose, would speed up, then slow down so we got close to him again, I also could not get over into the left lane due to traffic so was boxed in behind for a bit
Funny thing is the car had a piece of A4 sized paper in the back window with 'uber driver' written on it.
Never seen that before, thought nothing of it at the time
Certainly thought about it a couple days later though

Did some googling and yes then can remotely read certain cards now up to several meters away with the right tech that is easily avl to someone who knows what they are doing

But, if you're going to skim cards in traffic (and it's not uncommon as I read an article where they call it drive by skimming) why the **** would u have the uber driver signage in the rear window of the car you're skimming from when uber shows up on the cc statement??
Well people using uber in Indonesia obviously don't know that happens.....

If anyone sees the car with the sign grab the plate number
From memory it wasn't a six or eight like a falcon or Commodore, was a smallish medium car, light in colour.
Chances are miniscule in finding or solving it but just a heads up to others
It can happen, and does
Also we both have a CC that's linked together, they tapped into both
So either got one, and got the data of the other one thru that, or actually remotely read both
It's just radio freq so is not hard to do
