WTF has happened here? Who thought this was a good decision? I’m by no means a massive racing fan, but this event and the concerts were huge for the state

From a personal point of view I'm delighted as a South Australian I'd say it's typical of a government who can't see beyond next week.

How could the Supercars body think that discussions are going well to hold the event in November next year, to then have the Government cancel it altogether? Hopefully the public backlash forces them to backflip

I hope the government enjoys empty storefronts throughout Hutt street and the east end

we have governments ruling the states based on the public's fear

the result is business uncertainty, meaning you can't get insurance

no insurance, means no events

I wonder if there is a hidden plan/buyer/developer with Liberal ties for Vic Park?

Might have to stand alongside Denise and protest if so
The SA tourism guy was asked about selling the track infrastructure response was yes we've already spoken to The Bend, I bet you bloody have Shahin has the Libs in his pocket

That was a serious electrical storm last night! I don’t remember ever being kept awake due to a storm before, last night was the loudest and longest storm I can remember. Had three power surges throughout the night that tripped the power for a couple of minutes each time.

Some of the photos and videos coming out this morning are amazing!

I spent the night at the Hilton last night (courtesy of the $100 vouchers the government were giving out last month). The view of the storm from my room last night was amazing.

The Liberals have a track record of running motorsport out of town.

The Grand Prix, Le Mans and now the Clipsal have all gone under the Liberals watch.
Wasn’t the F1 GP signed over on Bannon’s watch?
Pretty sure the Libs won the election and pretty early on were told that the previous government lost it.
The Libs then organised the Supercars to come to Adelaide

It was announced soon after the 93 GP and I think after the 93 state election.

It was all done in stealth though with Ron Walker and Jeff Kennett cutting a deal with Bernie with no knowledge from our end.

Apparently the mark up from Adelaide to Melbourne was large enough that Bernie never bothered to ask our State Government if it could be matched.

I don't the premier at the time, Lyn Arnold, put up much of a fight for the GP.

I just remember at the time that the Libs (Brown?) got voted in and literally the next day Walker phoned him to advise him that a deal had been done and that the Labor government hadn’t tried to fight very hard for it

Because Melbourne offered Bernie way too much for it combined with the State Bank thingo still on the SA population's mind and the belief that public cost cutting was needed.

DON'T fu** THIS UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To think, I was going to be in Darwin on Thursday last week. I moved my flight forward a week because my work wanted me to finish a project in office before going to the NT for 2 months to work remotely. Now I’m stuck for god knows how long haha hope we get through this quickly and no further lockdowns are needed. It’s already madness at the shops

Epic fail by Marshall. Wasn't that long ago he was saying how great his quarantine procedures were working so he could bring international students back.
Now he's implemented almost a total lockdown.
Not even 1 hour of exercise outside the home allowed........

Just beat the rush to the local Aldi (I was due to do my food shopping tonight anyway, so besides getting a couple of extra bags of lollies, it was a normal shop for me).

By the time I left, people were waiting outside for trollies.

Attempted to go to the local Coles/Woolies for some stuff I didn't want to get at Aldi. Both had massive lines. Saw the butcher next door had a queue of 5 people, and Big W was dead. That saved a couple of hours of queueing.

I stopped to use the Commonwealth at The Burner and it was mental.
