On this though, the amount of traffic lights on North Terrace from King William Street heading west is bloody ridiculous. The one that annoys me the most, is for the tram stop just after the Morphett Street Bridge. There's a crossing where the traffic comes off Morphett Street ie at the beginning/eastern of the tram stop, and then 30 metres up the road there is a pedestrian crossing that leads to the western end of the same tram stop. It just is stupid.

pointless having the pedestrian crossing there, just make people walk down the 50m to the traffic lights and cross at those lights, at least the light sequencing is right there, unlike most other lights in Adelaide

they had a blitz on jay walkers couple months ago, i reckon it lasted a day
I almost got stung at the Cross Rd/Goody Rd intersection a few weeks ago... Was just about to step foot onto Cross road just up from the lights & out of the corner of my eye saw the coppers set up over in the carpark near where the old post office (now some sushi place) is. I waited a tick, some other poor prick walks out ahead of me and the copper greets him on the other side of the road. I walked down and used the lights and the copper gave me a bit of a "yeah, I saw you too buddy" type smile when I walked past them a few moments later.

Very very schneeky I thought.

So St Clair Rec Centre is being demolished as we speak. Don't know about you guys, but that place was such a big part of my childhood, from basketball to indoor soccer to the odd roller disco , seeing it half knocked to the ground hit me pretty hard. Shame it couldn't hold one last Xmas Carnival too, would have been good for it to go out with a bang...

I was getting dropped off for the big vote on the Adelaide Oval renovations at Wayville showgrounds, as soon as I got out of the car and I put weight on my left leg my meniscus tore leaving me collapsed in a heap on Goodwood Road in the middle of rush hour unable to get up. My friend who dropped me off said it was one of the funnier things she'd seen.

They've always done blitzes at Nth Tce by the railway station

Worked at the casino about 10-15 years ago and every now and then there would be a sign by the staff exit warning about cops doing jaywalking blitzes

They often do that after the Test match turns out. They pinched Ian Chappell once, which I would have paid good money to see.

It's good to see that Hipsters are moving into the Port and starting to revive the joint. It's an area of immense potential but has been looking pretty shabby since the 80's.
Straight down Port Road and there are plenty of lovely turn of the century, or early twentieth century houses that wouldn't look out of place east of Portrush Road but cost half as much. I've always like the Port.

The Port area gets a bad wrap, it is always been traditionally a fiercely working class area, but because of it's age (as old as Adelaide, North Adelaide), there is some very historic and great architecture. As you've alluded the architecture in Cheltenham, Alberton, Semaphore, Largs, is very much in the same mould as that in the more salubrious eastern suburbs. Port Adelaide itself has been a bit of a ghost town, but it just to get the people in and it could thrive. There are 12 pubs in Port Adelaide alone.

Didn't Keating call Adelaide the ass end of the world?
I'd like to cut Australia in half, the west can have pert and Adelaide, the east will take care of the rest.

If Adelaide was Melbourne, Port Adelaide would have been hip as **** for the last 15 years

Reckon part of Port Adelaide's problem is yhat by Adelaide standards, its a long way from the city. 14km to be precise. Glenelg is 11km but has always been considered Adelaide's beachside playground and far more civilised.

Adelaide is weird in the fact that it took it' inhabitants till the 1990s to work out that beach was a desirable place to live. Up until that point you could buy esplanade houses from Semaphore to Brighton for 2 tenths of **** all.

The owners of the ugly festival barge on the River Torrens have missed another deadline to fix up its appearance (i.e. to something more fitting of a respectable medium city that wants to be a tourist destination). As punishment for dumping an eyesore in such a prominent place and their disregard for OUR public space, it should be torched.

So went to TTP Saturday as we do most Saturdays
Get up the top of the Aldi car park to scoot thru to the main one upstairs and its packed from the top of the ramp
Wtf??
What's on today we thought after finding a park up the back corner where I've never parked ever
So we venture in and its not any busier than usual
Ahhhhh, the 200 car park spaces down below that have gone to make way for more shops....lol
Also can only get to the cinema by going up the escalator from the food court and go down a small aisle way to the right of Myers
Lol
If they aren't increasing parks somewhere else it's going to be ****ing utter stupidity

dont let them use it next year and organise it to be removed at their expense

I posted this in another thread, but I could save 14K Adelaide over Sydney every yaer and go on a holiday once a month, or 4-5 exceptional holidays while those rats are stuck in a race paying a mortgage on a house they can't afford.

The things you see on Hindley St on a Saturday night......

it's good to see grandpa enjoying the internet and all its wonders
