Beehive Corner no idea what year
About 1895
1910_beehive_corner.jpg

its actually c1909, beehive corner was built in 1895- 1896
I got that pic from the State Library History page. They say 1895. Happy to be corrected and for the Library also :)

I looked at an article about R Sewell from 1919 saying he had the shop for 13 years ie 1906. My original post had after 1906. Then I found the pic from the History page

I love Adelaide, it has a charm to it no other Aussie city has.

I love the main train station, sipping coffee I thought Peter Lorre was going to approach me and say "Excuse me, do you have the Maltese Falcon?"

And Glenelg is the most charming and true urban beach in the world.

I could have been walking with Monet in a time when beaches were about freedom and not sex, when I went to Glenelg.

And the tram which stops just before it falls into the sea.

I love Adelaide.

i used to go to timezone all the time, especially the lock ins

Monash playground was the best, except on hot days when you burnt your skin off on the slides
South Road Timezone did awesome lock ins.

Still got a pic of me as like a 5yr old near the bottom of the twisting slide , sans hessian sack and burning my arse - will try and dig it out.

Yep opposite Castle Plaza , me and 3 mates could finally play a full game of this...

AHHHH MAH KNEEEEE

Random thing - Old enough to remember when Castle plaza was " just " TARGET ( and a Red Apple Restaurant ) , locked myself in Mums Volksy and the coppers had to rock up

We've probably crossed paths jostling for possession of the Addams Family pinball machine.
