Marion Sports Oval and Beach Rd Christies Beach are still going. I heard Brighton and Marion swap weekends
I've been to Christies Beach a couple of times this year and there was hardly a row of stalls. In years gone by over half of that paddock would be full. No where near its former glory. :(

I like living in Adelaide because its quiet and no fuss like myself.

Weather is choice [emoji108] No muggy crap.

Can drive to work in 20 mins on the other side of town.

No else else come here.

Coles and woolies ect are bribing politicians to bring more and more regulations for these markets.

Killing them slowly

The only good thing about Beach Road these days is the place at the end that sell the amazing Dog Rolls (banh mi, vietnamese rolls). They're to die for.

Still that ice-cream shop opposite the park down the beach end ?
1st time i ever had bubble-gum flavored ice cream was there

Does anyone know when the Torrens2Torrens is due to be completed?

Next month - currently below budget and ahead of schedule. Tonight they were testing the ITS system. From the outside looking in, looks like it’s just the line marking and signage that needs to go in and it’s good to go (barring some residual clean up work that can happen once it’s opened). And that’s with the Marshall government throwing one of the companies involved in the project under the bus recently.

Darlington is the problem child at the moment, that’s about a year behind schedule because they got some dodgy cement. That looks like it open more in line with the Northern Connector than with T2T.

Yeah then it'll crumble like the south rd tram

Funny I don’t recall the Superway having any issues (despite the local media trying to make up some stories about it’s structural integrity).

Anyone mentioned the red hens yet? Used to jump all over the tracks and were noisy as hell, especially when you had the door open and could lean out while flying through a tunnel. No air con and the vinyl seats were hot and sticky in summer. Good times

Wouldn't get past occ health and safety these days. In summer the doors were always open. Everyone would jump out whilst the train was still moving.

I remember the Overland to Melbourne had those half doors you could open the top half.

My dad would always just be standing there smoking and watching the world go by. Wonder how many bushfires he started [emoji41]

Did the red hens have those? Or just 1 big door with a silver handle?

Had to have your foot against it if the train was going the opposite direction to the door close

The Overlander and others did have the double doors.

Jesus Christ the pub scene is dead in Adelaide. Does anyone go to pubs anymore? I try and head to the pub for a meal and drink either Friday or Saturday night - it's just dead everywhere nowadays. Is it just too expensive for everyone now or is it just because it's cold? Bit depressing tbh. Suburban pubs are up shit creek

Beer prices are bad everywhere but $50 for a carton of beer compared with 2 rounds of 4 beers for $50 is a no brainer.

As in its cheaper to stay home.

Also the pub i used to go to got rid of its sportsbar/normal tap beers and made it this $12 hipster shit craft beer bar with loud music and no TAB.

A pub to me is after work few beers watch some horses and wind down not Charlie Dixon looking bar blokes with tatts with rolled up sleeves and Amy winehouse looking barmaids who look and act suicidal. Shite vibe.
