the AFL setting their own price for their own event isn't scalping m8
Well you're not buying a 1500 dollar ticket. You are buying a 200 dollar ticket, or whatever it's worth (typically those "cheap" 1500 buck packages have "cheap" tickets). Then they chuck in a breakfast.

Fat cats gettin' fatter. Footy used to be the blue collar working man's game but its out of reach for regular joes like me. I gotta punch that time clock to put food on the table. Bloody disgrace.
Couldn't agree more and hence why I thought it was a worthy thread topic.

If $675 pa is getting in for nothing, then yeah, sure
This old chestnut. Club members often pay as much or more than AFL/MCC members yet still have to fork out for finals tickets on top. Games included in the membership price = getting in for free.

In comparison to other sporting events, I think we're lucky price wise. Not nessesarily the make up and % of club member allocations, but overall costing. $200-400 to see your tram in the big one is a small price to pay.

Fan since birth, member since 2010.

Buying a scalped ticket for over $300 on my apprentice wages as soon as my pay comes through on Wednesday.

If we don't win...heads will ******* roll.

If Richmond make the GF id suggest going price for a ticket will be close to $1500
Really?

I think it would be more like $3000

The AFL Event Office is sold out of packages and that has never happened before the Prelim Finals

Be interesting to see what happens if it's a Geelong v GWS Grand Final - wonder what those 5000 Tigers fans holding Grand Final packages will do with their tickets if the club member allocations don't sell out

Unwanted tickets might be closer to $30

Yes you may be right. Wasn't aware packages had been sold out.

This is just off the Crows website.

For the record yes I'm going, but I seriously feel for people who love their club but just can't afford a few hundred bucks for 2 people to go to 1 game. 2 adult and 2 concession category 2 tickets cost us just over $200 bucks for the Qualifying Final, they have doubled that for a prelim.

Fair or pure AFL theft?

It's theft . And of course all the airlines and the travel agencies are all in on the sting, happens every year, and what can you do about it. Just watch on TV and even that is not the best these days as the footy is not close or very outstanding any more.
This is the world we live in , and people just roll along, put up with it, or give up, I gave up going to Grand Finals years ago, too expensive then in WA damn near impossible unless you book it all in January , a package or if you follow the locals , I don't, and I'm a Victorian , last time I saw the Hawks at a GF was in 1975, NOT THE BEST OF DAYS.
FOOTY HAS BEEN WRENCHED FREE FROM THE AVERAGE PERSON, AND MONEY IS THE GO NOTHING ELSE , TRYING TO BE LIKE AMERICA AND PROMOTION AND SIDELINE SELLING OF ALL SORTS OF OTHER THINGS HAS BEGUN THE ROT.
I watched a WAFL final on TV last weekend , good open football barely any packs and maybe they would have been beaten by the AFL maniacal speed and packsball, that they play at that level, but I'll tell you but for a few super stars in the AFL , this footy locally was damned good to watch! so is AFL but only in bits , that's the tragedy , try watching NITV and watch the North Eastern leagues , football is brilliant, slower more skills just better.
The AFL is not Australian Rules anymore!

You can moan all you like. If demand outstrips supply, prices will go up.
