How do we have loose players in our defence still..stupid
We had Goldrick in the back 50 in the last Qtr... When we needed her manic footy and quick feet inside the F50.

What we needed inside the D50... was class, and high IQ footballers.

Again we lacked run across the centre-line... to deliver quickly inside our scoring zone. We didn't need Hore up front.

We needed many forward thrust opportunities coming thru the front of the centre square... to open up our F50.

We needed top shelf thinkers and class across our Half back-line... delivering to our runners going inside the front half.

We lacked the run and drive again from Hanks'y and Heath... and of course, Bannan.

We need to improve around the ball with running machines who can kick well.

And our defenders MUST be able to hit a target by hand... each and every time.!
------------------------

I think we need a bit of a turnover bringing in fresh talent to our mids.
------------------------

Same story as the mens list... and game-style.

The back 6 (except for maybe Lampard) where outstanding i guess, Particularly Taylor, Chaplin and Gillard
Goldrick had a bit of irish disposal back in today, Mackin looks a little slow still
Lampard probably the weakest part of the backline today unfortunately
Imagine now IF Hore was to play as attacking CHB...
... and Lampers in the guts and forward, creating with aggression and tenacity.

We needed way more chaos ball inside our F50.
(missing Sherrif's aggro and quick witted footy and feet inside F50)... so could have tried Lampers around the ball and to create havoc inside F50

Way to many balls were marked inside our D50 with easy opposition possessions, and exits out. Then they had a strong go with the footy across the centre-line, and into they're F50.

We had too much chaos ball inside our D50. With some panic-use of the footy.

Bannan somewhat had a dip today, more so than last week anyway:thumbsu:
Mahony and Wotherspoon still developing very well, a bit less impact today but can see them trying
Zanker just not utilised very well:thumbsu:
Harris started well but got worn down in a change of match up:thumbsu:
Loz was dominant in the ruck today, again wore plenty and had some great defensive plays:thumbsu:
Paxy started on fire but clearly burned out
Hore still good but blanketed a bit better:thumbsu:
McNamara had a great game but turned the ball over so much:thumbsu:
Fitzsimon after the season she had, probably not her best outing.:thumbsu: They seemed to favour Mackin coming up to the stoppages today, as i said looks a bit slow:thumbsu:
The youngsters O'Heir and Ebert had moments but probably a little caught out in this final
Heath couldn't quite get as involved today, great tackle in the third tho:thumbsu:
Hanks was better than last week, but still kind of eh:thumbsu:
Campbell as i've said was relief ruck and wasn't overly effective today in there or around the ground, sorry:thumbsu:

Bring the aggro from that stinging into next season thanks
We could be looking thru the same crystal LED ball, PF.

Mick was quite emotional after the Adelaide Semi, I know it was his 100th game, but it did feel like something a bit more so i can't say i'm to surprised

Yeah seemed that way. If he's been commuting from the surf coast for years fair enough he ends it - would walk straight into the Geelong job if he wants it.

Seemed like we've been grooming Shae Sloane as successor for a few years for this moment. Reckon she'd lead the race for the job

Tyla Hanks AA. She had some great home and away games, but honestly i thought she was very inconsistent at times this year. Still though, well deserved. Clearly shouldered a lot of the midfield during the year before Hore went back in there

Chaplin on the other hand, Very much the standout defender until Gillard came back in to help out. Played fantastic all season. Well done on an AA selection

Just saw Cordner named AA. Why on earth did we ever trade her? Melbourne person through and through. Just looked up the pick we got and who we used it on, doesn't look like she ever played a game and went back to playing netball.

Third in the league vote count

Tbh her form this year is a big outlier. She's had a bit of a rough trot with injuries too (at least when she was at Richmond think she did her knee, had some other issues).

We traded her the same off-season as O'Dea and a couple of others in a mini-rebuild. Agree the sentimentality of having a Cordner at the club would've been nice, but don't fault the club for not foreseeing her getting AA six seasons after she left.

I have no idea who is contracted for next season and who isn’t. I do wonder what impact Mick leaving will have on the team , especially Zanker ? I also wonder if we might have another look at Ireland for recruiting, or is that just not part of the club anymore .

It looks good for our back half with Gillard, Taylor, Chaplin, all improving with a touch of class.
We need to add runners who can deliver the footy precisely.

We also need the same types across the centre-line.

Strong gossip she is going to freo , which sucks .
Yeah read that. Though article on AFLW sites suggests we could use swag of picks we get to potentially trade up to #1 in the draft with GC having a bunch of academy kids they need points for.

Might be a small silver lining

FFS even in the W Freo are ripping our best away

Honestly i know they're all different drafting and trading teams, but if i can't see Zanker in a Melbourne Jumper at this point i'd rather her in a West Coast one than to see another player in a Freo one

Her partner is from WA i believe , as much as it would be a blow , these players mostly have to earn a living apart from footy . She hasn't left yet .
