Feel like we've been ripped off for what we get back

I think in a league that's not fully professional and players not earning a full time wage unless you're in Tier 1 the clubs aren't going to hold players too hard. Plenty of clubs will be in that position - you shouldn't be holding onto players too tightly and expect bonza draft picks. Can't compare it to the men's game.

Only when it gets ridiculous like pick 37 for KLWT it might get pushed back but even then I suspect it will still get done.

We got ripped off in that Zanker deal. She's a gun. If this was the men's game, a tall forward with that dominance and age bracket would be worth a kings ransom.

Ngl, getting rid of goody and going into the unknown feels refreshing. It doesn't feel the same in the AFLW.

Still a lot of good players on our list but if they're steered in the wrong direction... Like i'm actually like a tad worried because I don't know how we'll go next year, i don't even know how our forward line is going to function without Zanker as a primary target. I know we're a founding club and should be okay, but i'd hate to fall into mediocracy like the dogs seemingly have

You are probably better placed than just about any other team to cover the loss of a tall forward like Zanker. I reckon you'll be ok. Time to get excited about the two first rounders you're going to draft!

With Harris/Gall/Austin now we've still got decent tall targets up forward; granted not at the same individual level of Zanker. I feel at times we went too tall up forward anyway, maybe this forces a rejig of how we structure (+ new coach will have their own ideas); free up Banno a bit more maybe? Go smaller with Mahony/Wotherspoon/Pisano/other draftees?

Also agree with Sugar it seems like a decent time for a fresh coach. Stinear had been great and deserves a lot of credit for the culture and squad he built. But tactically feel we were getting a bit stagnant. Would be good to hear any word on plans for the replacement. My guess is Shae Sloane as an internal promotion (but maybe going through a little process for the sake of due diligence).
