I bought the age today to support the cash strapped organization. It seems, unless I am missing something, that they have no report from last nights game. Literally no mention of it. No scores, no report. No nothing.
I suspect they are trying to save money on printing costs.

Bizarre.

Is there such thing as an early edition? I got The Age too, The Boston Strangler on the front of the Sport and double page write up (though of inferior quality) within.

It's the same after every night game. They're a bloody disgrace! The Monday paper after the Dees twilight win didn't have a single word about our game and their ladder showed us and Melbourne as having played one less game than the rest. Cash strapped Fairfax?

Indeed it is, the same after every night game now. It's a level of service I got used to when the SMH was printed in Sydney and transported to my folks' home town a few hours away. But it's ridiculous that you buy an Age in Melbourne, or have it delivered, and it hasn't had time to pick up news from before midnight the night before.

They can't afford to employ the late shift to print the newspapers.

I remember the 90's they used to do the Friday night summary in Sunday's Age.

Was written by an up and coming journo called Dwayne somebody...

There must be two editions published. Stayed in the city last night. Didn't bother knocking off The Age from the hotel restaurant because there was no story on our game. On the way home checked out The Age in the 7 Eleven and our game was covered in the sports section.

Yep. An early edition is published and sent out to country Victoria and parts of Melbourne, so you don't get your previous-night news, while a later edition is then printed with updated news and circulated around Melbourne. The two editions can be significantly different to each other.
