Last 191cm flanker who grew to 194cm in his draft year was Tredrea. He was U17 All Australian on a wing and then became our greatest ever CHF.

Marsh went up my draft order because of his sprint today. IF he really is 194cm now, then he is a must get if still available.

Buddy is the worst star KPF when it comes to contested marking. Actually scratch that, over the last year or two he is terrible at marking fullstop. Is still one of the best players in the league though. If he (marsh) gets to our pick and is a genuine 194cm player with elite speed, would be real hard to overlook him I think.
wrong. how many have you seen him spill? i remember one obvious one but he doesnt spill a lot. go watch more of the key forwards talked about in this thread like jesse white and come back and tell me if you think butch is a terrible mark. the guy needs to front more contests and back himself to hit some packs but i hardly blame him when he has been fit all of ten minutes so far. butchs speed , agility, reading of the play and hands are all in the elite category for key forwards imo. he obviously has his faults , and he needs to overcome them if he is to become the forward we need him to be but i am not concerned about his marking one single bit.

Mumford to GWS is a great move for them. Imagine late in quarters having Giles as your ruckman and then a forward line of Cameron-Boyd-Patton-Mumford. Jesus.
Jesus wouldn't make that forward line. Too injury prone also.

Rucci just said we are interested in Nathan Vardy from Geelong
i dont think geelong would let him go without gouging our eyes out and pulling our hair in a big fit. i think there whole future is planned around vardy and kersten as their forward line. outside of that they have nothing.

How are GWS able to announce Mumford joining them on a 3 year deal? Buddy announced he wanted to go to Sydney and they got a 'please explain' from the AFL.

PORT ADELAIDE expects to retain unrestricted free agent Tom Logan and is unlikely to trade its first round draft pick.

Power coach Ken Hinkley confirmed there was a contract on the table for Logan, a standout performer in the club's elimination final win over Collingwood, and expected he would take it.

"We expect Tom to be with us. He loves Port Adelaide and I couldn't imagine Tom at all moving on," Hinkley told Gillette Trade Radio on Wednesday.

"He's one of those players who has survived on the back of one year contracts and he understand that.

"He knows he's that type of player and he has to be very desperate every time he plays.

"He deserves an opportunity to go on with us and we hope that he accepts."

Players who can run and use the ball on the outside are a priority for the Power, as is a tall forward to give 28-year-old Jay Schulz a chop out.

The injury-plagued John Butcher will enter the pre-season with few injuries to recover from, while the Power are excited by the potential of project forward Mason Shaw.

But Hinkley said trading their first draft pick for Sydney Swans forward Jesse White wasn't something he'd look at doing.

Hinkley is on record saying his philosophy towards list management is to draft and develop talented young footballers.

"It's unlikely for us to want to do anything with our first round selection because we're a development club and that's what we're going to do," he said.

"We're going to bring in our own and develop them as best we can

"You never get there and say never because you're just not quite sure what is on the table.

"If you said to me right now, ‘Jesse White for our first round pick’ - it's just not something we're going to entertain.

"We want to make sure we maintain our first round draft pick every year it's possible for us to do that, and we're not going to say we're not going to ever do it, but we're really reluctant to do it."

Massive like.

Ken said he were interested in a power forward but wouldn't give up any names. It made me wonder who he had identified- Vardy makes a lot of sense.

Seems to have been played as a ruckman a fair bit (he was flogged by Lobbe earlier in the year) yet most Cats Bigfooty fans consider him best as a key forward. Would be a great get, first 22 though so will take a nice old carrot.

Listening to Hinkley on trade radio:
1). Very keen and confident on White - as much as he could be given trade week/FA hasn't begun yet. When prompted with White's speed, vision and poise as a HF, Hinkley added that we have other roles in mind too and specifically mentioned that we had struggled to contain a few opposition players this year whom White could run with, as he did with Stephen Hill. I like this very much.
2). Only mentioned Polec by name once but indicated that we are very keen, suggesting it is not a foregone conclusion that he will be going to the Crows.
3). Indicated that Robinson wouldn't be a priority as he wouldn't necessarily improve our list by meeting our needs.
4). KPF of some sort has become a priority. If Hinkley can help it, we will not be going into games next year with just Schulz forward and Westhoff as a swing man.

sweet. ive highlighted outside pace/carry , inside in and under , tagger and key forward as our needs. seems we are looking to address most of those to some degree.

This is the part I liked the most too. A guy like Patrick Dangerfield cuts us to ribbons every time because Dom and Kane are just too slow to go with him.
