If I'm not mistaken, he started the season elevated for Brett Ebert, then Ebert came off the injury list, so Mitchell went back down. He then went back up when either Brett reinjured himself or when Redden went on the long term list. I think. Pretty sure it was Redden he directly replaced. Either way, those two are the only two long term injuries we had sustained this year.
He was elevated mid year as per the rules regarding allowance of one rookie to be elevated in the middle of the AFL season.

Can suck it!
He was elevated for Nick Salter who had stress fractures in his foot. When Salter returned round 8ish Mitchell went back on to the rookie list for a few weeks.

Just out of curiosity, Considering Kane Mitchell has played a few games this year. Who did Mitchell replace that was on the Long term injury list?

Freo promoted Tarberner, a key forward when Kepler bradley did his knee.
Mitchell is currently promoted as a replacement for Redden.

Earlier he replaced Trengove I think and possibly Brett Ebert before that

EDIT: Mitchell replaced Salter R1-R3, Trengove R6-R13 and Redden R14-current.

if there were 5 kids worth a shot hell yes i would want them over d.stew, thomas, hitchcock and a couple others.

but like i said, i reckon we are likely to go 3 draft picks plus hold over a pick for psd.

now is the time for us to also stockpile a few kpps as well

I think we could have another Wingard coming our way!! I remember his predraft interview being very similar to Brad Eberts saying that his dream would be to play for Port Adelaide. He was a member and went to all our games even up to before he was drafted!!

And I thought to myself.... Why would he call Wingard a disaster ??

I still think that we should trade for one of the Delaney brothers from the Kangaroos 194 cm and strong.
I'll never, ever understand why people faced with the problem that 'our team only has average players in position X' consider the solution to be 'trade for more average players in position X'.

Our KPD stocks are fine. Carlile and Trengove aren't stars, but they are AFL quality (and Trenove has been in ripping form since returning from injury), and Hombsch and Clurey both have the potential to overtake them in time. Rookie Joel Tippett as tall depth in case Trengove goes down lon term again and be done with it.

It surprises me that playing the mock Draft over at that board at the moment....they have both Freeman and Dunston being available at our pick...Nightmare is who is doing Powers and Collingwoods picks has us going over Dunston and picking up Freeman with Dunston going to Collingwood....that the possibility that both could be available is interesting..Nightmare really does a hard sell on Freeman...I would buy :)

Cameron Mcarthy anyone?

Hasn't played footy for a while, both ends of the ground and a KPP
im very interested in macarthy. havent seen him play but the description sounds very good , and we need to take a gamble on some kpps.

still, our first pick would be a hell of a risk , but sometimes you have to bet big to win big. if he slips to our 2nd i hope we grab him. at a guess i reckon he will be snatched off the draft board a pick or two before our 2nd pick just to smash my dreams.

Freeman is EXACTLY what we need. An explosive mid who can bust packs open like a Dangerfield. He could shark a Lobbe/Redden tap and just keep running, which gives guys like Boak, Hartlett, Wingard, Moore and Wines the time and space to operate more effectively, because everyone has to be aware of where Freeman is at every stoppage.

I've never seen Freeman play, but from the description of him in the Phantom Drafts he sounds exactly like the type of player that would round out our midfield. Now it's time to watch some You Tube highlights so I can try to sound like an expert.

Dunstan for me, has the professionalism and the discipline that you can't train and is another SA captain to go into the Power sqaud always good

also can go up forward and take a mark

Watched his "come out game" vic metro v country and then again against SA

was shocked when he i found out he wasn't playing footy for long, can just read the footy and has a great frame

I think he is the ideal 15ish pick so we would be reaching but risks need to be taken to win big

I think our trade week/ free agency period will be far more defining this year than our draft.

If we could trade in polec, gorringe and not lose first 2 draft picks it would be amazing. If we could bring also bring in Day and only lose first pick I will jizz. Add to that, snag a cooney in free agency then I will jizz constantly for a good 10 minutes

I don't have an issue with Dunstan at all, I just believe that Freeman fills a greater need and looks like being there at our pick.

A lot to love about our midfield, already delivering but still has so much more potential, our age bracket is perfect. We draft Freeman and I think we can tick off our midfield and say 'Yep, all roles covered, that can win a couple premierships.'

Been mentioned with Kane getting on we can groom Andy Moore to fill a taggers role, but I'd soon back us to get over any midfield head to head ala Hawthorn, Sydney. Guess it'd be good to have the option but isn't something I feel we HAVE to address if we want to be the best.
