Mathew Bode in 2000 got us pick 12 which we used to get Shaun Burgoyne. We had traded away pick 4 for Wakelin + pick 48. We gave the crows pick 48 as part of the Bode trade. That year we picked up Kane with pick 20.

Brad Symes who in 2007 played in the GF after not being good enough to make team since being dropped in Rd 12. We swapped him for pick 28 which got us Marlon Motlop in the 2007 "wonder draft."

With Stewarts broken wrist where does that leave him and the club? I'm not sure he had much trade value before hand but that would be an added risk I assume?
Would have been worse if it was his shoulder... shoulder would be a repeat injury... wrist is an impact injury.

EDIT: remember when Lade broke his leg twice? He came back to have an "ok" career. ;) :thumbsu:

What I absolutely love about this year is we have played Ollie 100%, Neade 80%, Colhoqun 60%, blokes like Moore, Hartlet, Pittard and Butcher have put together long sustained periods of injury free football. All while we are winning games.

Uninjured Hartlett is a big one for mine, hopefully over his hammy and back worries which should give him further confidence and allow him to train 110% over pre-season.

Bobby 2.0 is playing at CHF this week for maggies

will be interested to see how he goes, would be a handy string to his bow and push him further in the "rookie him" group if he can play a role their too

Aseri played a few games there earlier in the year and provided a bit of presence but didn't hit the scoreboard or get too many stats. He was moved down back again and Beard had a bit of a run forward and showed a bit. Kory is probably the better option.

Sydney's salary cap issues ( ie at the maximum) will come up if they win another flag if a lot of players have big bonus components and some are still to be re-signed in October. If they make the GF it will also be stretched.

In 2007 Jude Bolton was put up for trade because of salary cap reasons but we didn't know that at the time and though he was put up because he was an ageing 27/28 midfielder with injury issues, not missing games but a smashed up body. He has only missed 5 games since the end of 2007 (2 in 2011 and 3 in 2012 both times late in the home and away part of the season).

Their free agency list is limited

SYDNEY SWANS
Free agents:

Jude Bolton (unrestricted)
Re-signed:
Adam Goodes (unrestricted, 2014)
Nick Malceski (unrestricted, 2014)

So do we target one of their guys for a trade? They have a shit load of big blokes who all can't fit in the side up forward Tippet, White, Goodes ( his time in the mid field will be limited), Sam Reid, LRT can play forward or back, Pyke, Mumford, Grundy, Richards. Andres Everitt is 194cms.

Just checked their list they have a rookie at 203 cms and Ted Richards brother is 194cms so they might be reluctant to lose more than one player with height /KPP type.

Which other player like Campbell Heath who is a fringe player should we target?

Mental blank question: have we ever traded in a player from the Crows?

I know a handful have gone in the other direction.
Remember hearing a rumour back when we entered the AFL that we sounded out Tony Modra. Story went that he was good enough to speak to Bucky but declined telling Bucky that his life was crazy enough with Adelaide fans, could he even imagine what it would be like if he moved to Port? :D

I'd have Day comfortably at the top of the list though, being contracted, he is the least likely.

It would be massive if we could add 3 really highly rated juniors in Polec, Growden and Gorringe without using our first round pick.

Figures crossed Growden will be a delisted free agent

There's a part of me that would love to see the Hoff and Jack Watts in the same team. Tactically that would be an awesome combination that would be difficult to cover. So many SA boys at the sharp end of the draft I don't want to see us trading away draft choices this year. The chance to have another SA gun is too good to swap away, and with Cows missing out, we go up one place and hopefully Essendon lose out on draft choices which will mean we will be 2 spots ahead in our Round 2 choice.
