Brogan, Primus and Lade never played well with all three playing, and no side in the league plays three genuine ruckmen in this day and age.
Lobbe was drafted as a KPF but has developed into a ruckman in time. We haven't rushed him, we've let him develop and he hasn't shown an awful lot until half way through this season, in his 6th season and at 23 years of age. Redden has played some good footy but hasn't shown any level of dominance or consistency yet. Until the last couple of weeks, getting beaten in the ruck has been the norm for a year and a half.
These guys will come good in time. They showed signs, we persisted, and they have started to come good.
As will Butcher if afforded the same opportunity.
You absolutely do not trade away highly rated, first rounder talls before they've had a chance to establish themselves. If we've hung onto Daniel Stewart for this long, we can hang onto Butcher for a couple more years to give him an injury free chance to put on some size, get fit and establish himself.
