WWE have been reportedly after Samoa Joe as well, to the extent they had someone meet him at an RoH show.

There was rumours around last year about Monty going to the WWE, I guess he must have got tired of waiting for his chance at the NWA World Title, I know a lot of TNA fans had been pushing for him to have a title reign,

I think they've been interested in Joe for a while. i think it got to the point where Joe had to choose between WWE and TNA and signed with TNA. And thank god for that.

Apparently they'll be talking up Monty as the ex-football player as opposed to the Seregenti "hunter" he portrayed in TNA. Ex-football players/blue chippers = not interesting.

Just what we need, another overdone gimmick.

I was surprised when he stayed with TNA, considering what the WWE could offer him in the way of a contract. Pretty popular on the Indy scene, especially in RoH, and early on in Epic Pro.

I wonder what TNA offered him, maybe a run at the NWA Title.

The opportunity to make a name for himself immediately rather than be watered down and have to go through developmental.

What happened to CM Punk he took like a year to appear on WWE tv. Did he spend all his time at OVW or was he injured?

I thought Monty (judging by other peoples opinions) was pretty good in the ring.

I bet WWE ******** this up.

In regards to CM Punk, he spent a fair bit of time down there. It's not uncommon, especially if guys need to get used to a gimmick, or the WWE style. I think it's pretty rare to for a guy to go directly to the roster these days, unless he's established to WWE audiences. (Most WWE fans wouldn't know what TNA is, so I doubt they know Monty Brown).
