It's June 1984, and the National Basketball Association has folded under massive debts, unrealistic budgets and a waning interest from the American public.

In it's place, the American Basketball Association has been formed with a whopping 30 teams, expanding across the United States and into Canada and Mexico to create a truly continental league.

This thread will follow the fledgling ABA in its infancy as the NBA stars we know today forge their own path in a brand new competition with brand new competitors.

Just curious why you didn't go with Continental Basketball Association or North American Basketball Association. And based in 1984, in which case Moses Malone and Kurt Rambis on the Canadian team would be fun
