DRAGONS 28.14 (182) defeated DEMONS 12.8 (80)

Just four rounds remained and if you recall, the Dragons were absolutely pantsed by the Demons earlier in the year by 79 points. I don't know the greatest turnaround within a season, but the Dragons winning by 102 points (181-point turnaround) is something special. LSS booted a lazy 6.6 and The_Reaper kicked 7.3 as the Dragons piled on no less than six goals in a quarter including nine goals in the third term to hand the simmer Deestroy a game to forget for his Demons. Miggles on debut got in the votes, and I'm still waiting for my request:

BOMBERS 19.11 (125) defeated DRAGONS 17.15 (117)

The third last game down in a 22-game season and the BnF is heating up with both Ljp and Moo moving within striking distance of Ljp. It all but left the trio alongside LSS as the only possible 2006 BnF winners. Coin_Toss dominated for the Dragons in a tight eight-point loss to the Bombers, whilst Rocca_Flys_High kicked five from 22 hitouts in the ruck. The Bombers team consisted of players such as ant555 and boncer34 as they won in a thriller by eight points.

ROYS 17.13 (115) defeated by DRAGONS 21.8 (134)

The penultimate round saw the Dragons pick up a big win over the Roys in a high-scoring contest. Ljp86 decided Best and Fairests were fun and wanted one, picking up 38 touches and seven marks in a clear BOG performance. LSS picked up three votes, but being six behind the leader could not win, with only Jackson Rules capable of catching Ljp.

It was a long season and even Mobbs had had enough.

KOALAS 17.6 (108) defeated by DRAGONS 21.15 (141)

It was somewhat fitting that the final match would come down to a battle between the Koalas and Dragons. The arch rivals were facing off with the Koalas needing a win to get into finals and the Dragons needing a win to avoid the spoon. The result would go down in history as the Dragons would get up by 33 points avoiding the spoon - and still yet to win one 14 years and 24 seasons later.

I tendered my resignation post match, which was weird because I was the coach not the captain. Nonetheless, it clearly spurred the team on:

If we can take anything out of this season, it's the satisfaction of beating these smartarse bastards aka. rota69 & Frankston Rover. This is one match that has more than a spoon on the line, this means everything. So we have answered the greatest SFA mystery. On behalf of the Dragons FC, we would like to congratulate Ljp86 on his inaugural best and fairest win! Pie 4 Life had this to say:

"I see a big future in our second year player Ljp86," he said. "I don't want to put too much pressure on him, but reckon this might be the first of many Best and Fairests, and maybe a couple of Mobbs Medals, All-SFA Teams, the works. Maybe even some Hall of Fames, but hey this is 2006 so we can't see too much into the future. "I just reckon sitting here 14 years later this might be the start or something special."

Congrats Ljp86, add another trophy to the cabinet and both Mobbs and Hate (probably more Mobbs I think based on the threads it's awards rather than stats) can update the records finally!

Ah f*** it we'll just do it now. So the Swamprats picked up another win over the Dragons and LSS got to pick his first side. Clearly it was the reason we lost and is entirely their fault. Another would be veteran of the SFA returned to the line-up after being dropped but it under an alias 🧐

Oh, you must have missed the patented Mobbs Multiplier discussion last season. Off the top of my head I think they started in mid-2011.
