In my opinion ALL ethnic and religious nationalists/supremists are a brown stain on collective humanity. It is one thing to be proud of your cultural roots - it is quite another to use that pride in a forceful manner meaning to exclude other ethnic or cultural groups from participating in the society of your chosen nation, wherever it may be.

Ethno-religious nationalists and supremacists might well hold rallies and marches as the law allows and those opposed might hold counter rallies and such, but violence should only be dished out when those ethno-religious groups actually start attacking minority cultures or multi-cultural society itself. Islamists who want to attack the mainstream. Neo-Nazis who want to do the same. If they're marching or rallying it's okay to just drown them out with noise and numbers.

Don't acquaint their heads with the pavement until they actually start acting out their hate-filled ideology.
That's what has been happening so far, and the death toll is increasing.
So while I agree with your principles, I think something more needs to be done.

When they have started acting out their hate-filled ideology, it's often too late.

Yeah, it's a problem. A growing one.

Donald got a lot wrong there, but I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone.

Once the US declares antifa a terror organisation, one would expect Australia to follow suit.

If not, Messrs Morrison and Dutton will be getting a very sternly worded letter.

I refuse to live among masked and violent radicals who think it's acceptable to bash anyone they deem an enemy.

Do you also refuse to live amongst ethno-religious nationalists and supremacists?

How happy are you with the US dictating our domestic policy?

Hey buddy they're not an organization. Bashing people is already illegal. It isn't radical to be opposed to fascism.

Lets stick to condemning all politcal violence, shall we?

This is the antifa thread.

Also, wtf is an ethno religious nationalist? Do they wear masks?

Please try and stick to the topic of the thread, or I will direct your attempts to derail the discussion to the local area mods.

This is the apologism that always gets wheeled out. Just as the "Democratic Republic of North Korea" is not a democracy, someone calling themselves an anti fascist don't necessarily make it so.

The good guys generally don't feel the need to cover their face up like a burglar. Supporting anarcho-communism is radical.

Mr Cruz said Antifa is an organisation “composed of hateful, intolerant radicals who pursue their extreme agenda through aggressive violence.”

“Time and time again their actions have demonstrated that their central purpose is to inflict harm on those who oppose their views."

Hard to argue with the Senator there.

An ethno religious nationalist or supremacist is one who thinks and acts as if their own race, ethnic group or religion is the sole acceptable one and works toward the gradual removal of all others from the society they live lin.

As Antifa formed as a reaction to this kind of thought process, an antibiotic build-up to the disease that is ethno-religious nationalism if you will, they are central to the discussion of this thread and any discussion of possible solutions.

Since you denounced Antifa

I refuse to live among masked and violent radicals who think it's acceptable to bash anyone they deem an enemy.

but failed to denounce nationalist and supremacist groups that antifa formed to oppose, I'll ask again;

Do you also refuse to live amongst ethno-religious nationalists and supremacists?

No you're not getting away with it.

If antifa was formed as 'an antibiotic build-up to the disease that is ethno-religious nationalism' then why did they violently attack a gay asian immigrant journalist?

I'm assuming they lumped the poor kid in with the other ethno religious nationalist supremacists?

Surely they didn't beat him up so badly his brain bled simply because he wrote an article critical of antifa?

Rubbish. They became a thing in the US because a bunch of kids studying gender degrees got upset by the election of Trump.

More apologism that suggests anyone right of centre is a nazi.

That was wrong of them. Completely and utterly, and you'll never find me defending it. In fact I openly denounce that particular attack.

Yep. Anti-fascism has emerged as an energetic presence since Trump's campaign. Why do you think that is?
Because extremists living in echo chambers lack objectivism and logic. Neo nazis believe Jewish elites are planning genocide. Leftist extremists believe Trump is a fascist who is planning genocide. Both these groups of extremists believe in socialism. All these ideas are absurd.

Good man.

You want to be on the right side of history after antifa are declared a terror organisation.

There are a few antifa supporters around here who you'll find suddenly disappear/go on a lengthy sabbatical/change name and avatar.

Rubbish. They became a thing in the US because a bunch of kids studying gender degrees got upset by the election of Trump.

Antifa is far, far older than the Trump presidency and the 'alt-right'. As long as racism and fascism have existed there have been those who oppose. It just has never been a single group with a recognisable leadership structure.

More apologism that suggests anyone right of centre is a nazi.

I can admit that there are some who think this way. I genuinely don't.

Again, you've been told the US doesn't declare domestic terror organisations.

Don't play the voice of moderation. You were happy to brag about turning up to a nationalist event with steel caps looking for a fight.

But do you denounce these ethno-religious nationalists and supremacists? Is it right or is it wrong to want to drive other cultures and ethnicities from our neighbourhoods, from our societies and from our nation?
