In black and white you are right of course. But if I was in their shoes I'd think long and hard about it and whether it's worth it.
Didn't stop Hird and Voss as well as Harvey from accepting it.

no difference the award is for the FAIREST and best and clearly Watson was not the fairest.

Ben Johnson should have kept his medal then

I'm not arguing you're wrong I'm just throwing up a point of view that asking whether or not you would accept it. If they didn't I would completely understand.

Get it?

**** Me they still think that JOBE deserves the brownlow, lets go against world convention and let him keep it, what ******* universe do they operate in

The award is for the FAIREST and best , how does chris grant feel about this, what about corey Mckernan

If the integrity of the award is to be maintained it must be stripped.

I personally want him to keep it but for an asterisk to go next to his name. If it is stripped there is like a small moment of pain but after that it is forgotten by the player. But think about it that for the rest of time whenever someone looks up the record books there will be a little note saying that it was won whilst being doped up. Man that would cause more shame and to think as well the shame everytime jobe sees the medal.

If he has any decency he'll give it back. Let's see what he's made of.

I can't believe the AFL are still in denial. What a joke of an organisation.
And now stating they'll review their relationship with WADA as its not conducive to team sport...hmmm. How about you don't set up an injecting regime using illegal PEDs in the first place and you won't have that problem.

Shits me to tears they just can't say it was wrong, should never have happened and we will work with WADA to improve the time it takes between testing and sanctioning.

Will the ban affect free agency eligibility? IIRC Hooker was to become RFA at the end of the year but the ban may have pushed his eligibility forward a year?

Harsh comments from ASADA, no love lost here:

Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) chief executive Ben McDevitt has described the Essendon supplement saga as an unfortunate episode that has "chronicled the most devastating self-inflicted injury by a sporting club in Australian history".

Dont for one second think 12 months off will be a good thing for the players. They will not come back fresher.
The will come back unfit and have not played the game for 12 months. 12 months off is a long time and their form and progress
will be hindered dramatically.
except they will be on the juice for a year ;)

Wha? Is there something in player contracts that say if they are suspended for 12 months because of PEDs their FA eligibility is brought forward?

Yes, it's annoying that the AFL cannot admit any fault here. WADA is a world class organisation with an elite team that had no issue with banning Lance Armstrong so what did Essendon expect. It's time the AFL review their own procedures and anti doping laws

Last time the AFL were reluctant to put their signature on the WADA code the government threatened to withdraw all government funding. They signed.
