1st day of the 1st test, England's first innings over and out for 215.

Time for a bold call..... Australia to win the Ashes.

Now watch us get skittled this evening...

Remember when cricket was about the team building an innings together? Now I keep thinking all we need is one batsman not to throw away his wicket and we'll be alright.

I was expecting Cowan to go out leaving one hitting off 2/3 of the way up. At least he got bat on it.

We'll got rolled for 160 odd and the Poms should knuckle down and stop firking about in the 2nd dig. Pretty loose day.

I was worried about Siddle's form coming in to this test.

I'm worried about our immediate cricketing future resting in the hands of Phil Hughes and Steve Smith.

Hoping for a repeat of history.

Dammit!

At least Wade isn't in the team. Haddin is a complete campaigner but he can wield the stick occasionally. Take a bit more shine off and the tail should be good for a few.

Yes, I just ****ed Haddin. You're welcome.

So that's where 'silly' and 'screwed' came from. F**k c**t.

Apparently he's not too bad with the stick. Certainly had worse at 11. I'm always baffled when our lower order have better techniques than the blokes in the top 6 though. Legs eleven can use the full face but half the top order can't?

Should be able to take a handy 80 or 90 run lead in to the next dig I think. The Poms will crumble. Just need Hughes to hold up an end while Agar puts these weak scum to the sword.

Absolutely extraordinary. 69 from 68 balls for Agar so far. And this last-wicket partnership up to 112.

This is without precedent in the history of cricket. Highest score by any number 11 on debut. Highest score by a number 11 batting for Australia.

The all-time record for a number 11 is Tino Best for the West Indies against England last year (95).

And that record could fall today too.

You've pretty much now guaranteed that Hughes will run him out for 94.

The record for a last-wicket stand is well and truly under threat as well. The highest before now is 151 (by NZ against Pakistan in 1973, and by Pakistan against South Africa in 1997).

LOL - no, my predictions are generally a helluva lot more solid than that. Richmond supporters would know from previous experience, of course :)

PS- Very confident about both records falling at this point. Agar looks very comfortable out there. Doesn't look under any threat from the English attack, and the ball's only going to get older.

Felt pretty indifferent about this series until the last hour or so, but now I'm intensely focused on it.

Will not sleep until the last wicket falls, even if it takes another 5 or 6 hours, or more.

Apparently he's not too bad with the stick.

This is turning out to be a drastic understatement. It is now getting redonkulous.

Don't shaft him out of a century, Hughes!

Equal now with the all-time record last-wicket stand in Test cricket.

And now that record's gone too!

4 more for that record.

And that's the all-time record for a number 11 now. 4 more for the century. Come on Agar!
