oh! :(
"Documentation issues" has happened before - this game, in which Czech Republic scored the (I think) highest T20I score occurred when most of the Turkey team couldn't get visas. Or something like that.

Has the qualification set up changed? Seems odd Zimbabwe are playing against Kenya, Rwanda, Mozambique, Seychelles and Gambia.
Hasn't changed but Zimbabwe didn't make the World Cup so have to start at the bottom level of qualifying.

Tim Ward and Jake Doran pop up in that article. Interesting given Ward is in some people's minds as being a potential Australian player.
Doran I think is potentially a future test keeper for Australia. In a post Carey world you have Inglis (who's a few years older than Doran) then Philippe (same age) who's batting technique is still a little iffy despite his talent.

I know its been discussed in the onward march of T20 thread but probably more appropriate here given previous discussions in here regarding Italy.

Jersey have just beaten Scotland by 1 wicket on the last ball of the match in T20 World Cup qualifying. It means one of Italy or Jersey will qualify for the World Cup. Both will qualify if Italy beat the Netherlands later tonight.

Italy are the latest member to make their ICC tournament debut! A defeat to the Dutch means they qualify over Jersey on NRR.

It's a shame the round robin fixture between Italy and Jersey was abandoned without a ball bowled as that would've essentially decided which of them qualified.

Jersey vs Scotland last night was a really good advertisement for T20 cricket, more ebbs and flows than people usually credit the format with. And could legitimately have gone either way going into the last few balls. Shame neither of them qualified, given they are the two associates I follow the most (due to family connections), but well done to Italy and The Netherlands.

Hopefully Italy can convince some of the other Australians (and others) to play in the T20WC. They won't make the Super 8s but they would be a chance to win a game if they get another associate in their group.

If Ben Mantenti is eligible to play for Italy, would that mean Stoinis someone of Greek origin be allowed to represent Greece? 🤔

Yeah real mind blower having Italy in a cricket world cup.

Probably some new records will be set against them if they are playing the better sides though.
They're nowhere near as bad as Uganda who made the last World Cup.

They beat Scotland who got within 2 balls of beating Australia at the last World Cup.
