Levi is a forward that can pinch hit. With less rotations, that'll be a commodity.

Also has something to do with how old Wood is. I'm not saying he's a star but he's serviceable. He seems to struggle when he has to play more than 5 games in a row.
I agree with this. Wood seems to be able to come in and have solid performances for a few weeks in a row. He is limited yes, but he will have a crack.

Warnock is one of the softest blokes going around, gives absolutely nothing around the ground. Never seen a ruckman tap the ball at a stoppage and put his hands straight on his hips!

Yeah surely Levi would still be in the Carlton best 22? Would Carlton play Levi and Kreuzer plus a pure ruck or just go with 2 who can ruck and play forward?

I wouldn't have minded the Tigs looking at Gorringe for added depth personally. For some reason, reminds me of Hampson lol. Built like a brick house but maybe doesn't play the same way? :p

I'm hoping Levi just stays forward and Kruezer and Gorringe/Phillips play ruck. Kruezer can also pinch hit on ball & forward, and the other 2 wouldn't be as useless as Wood/Warnock are/were as forwards

Not sure that's the way it's going personally. Less rotations next season will mean we should be playing 1 ruck and 1 forward/ruck that provides a chop out.

Can't afford to be playing multiple rucks that can't play forward imo.

Gorringe & Kruezer can play forward. Kruezer can also pinch hit ruck rover at times. Levi as anything but a pack marking FF is a waste. Uses the ball poorly around the ground and doesn't go well in ruck contests

Agree with this Levi should definitely just play forward, and if Gorringe/Phillips show they are useful as forwards then partner them with Kruz as the ruck combo and share the duties.

Not sure we can be that tall with that many of them that can't play as a genuine forward but that's just my opinion. I've never seen anything from Kreuze that makes me think he's a natural looking forward. Doesn't lead like a forward.

Imagine how quickly teams will rebound with 2 big ruck/forwards down in our 50.

Not saying they are as good at all. But Hawthorn never had a problem having Hale & Roughie in the forward 50 together. Levi + 2 rucks can definitely fit in one side. Especially when Kruezer can play and move like a mid when he is fit

Hale played a better forward role than ours though.

It's also worth remembering that with no sub role next year, you can't bring one off for a fresh pair of legs now. They have to play out the whole game.

I dont really think we have any option other than to play Levi permanently forward. Who else do you kick it to? Walker?

Well at least that should be the coaches thinking.

No. The media will play it up, Trigg will play it down but it's really somewhere in the middle.

New major sponsor announced today :thumbsu:

Herald Sun have put together a terrible best 22 for Freo. I was looking at forward options that replace Peter Mann and noticed that Pavlich has kicked more goals than the next 3 on the list combined.

Also Bojan KantKick Mayne will be top 4 on the goal kicking list after next season.

Jesus. If he plays for 2 more seasons he may break Anthony Rocca's record.

I always thought he was the 'Mayne' man in attack after Pav. :$

This is the team by the way:

Fremantle’s team of the AFL era

B: Roger Hayden, Luke McPharlin, Antoni Grover

HB: Dale Kickett, Michael Johnson, Shane Parker

C: Stephen Hill, David Mundy, Paul Hasleby

HF: Michael Walters, Peter Mann, Ryan Crowley

F: Hayden Ballantyne, Matthew Pavlich, Jeff Farmer

R: Aaron Sandilands, Nat Fyfe, Peter Bell

I: Michael Barlow, Justin Longmuir, Stephen O’Reilly, Paul Duffield

O'Reilly only did one good thing in his career. Not sure the Carlton fans would agree though.
