Hes not mobile enough to be anything other than a straight lead from the goal square old fashioned FF. Though his hands arent great and hes crap below his knees. Has the turning circle of a cruise ship too.

He cant ruck either.

Why not just keep Casboult who is twice the player?
Casboult wants 3-4 years at 500k plus. By the time he is in his last year Curnow and co will be 23 and so far past him it's not funny. Can't afford to lose one of them in 3-4 years because cash is stuck paying a 32 year old Casboult.

Tbh I'd prefer a 1-2 year deal with redpath and getting less output than being stuck with Casboult on big money. Really in 18 months McKay should be ready to go past redpath so he'll be an insurance option for 2019 rather than a regular. I'm only interested in redpath if he is cheap and a short term contract

If Greene doesn't extend his leg and protect himself he gets crunched and doesn't get the handball away
Stiff shit

He made the decision to jump up and stick his foot out

It's a dangerous high fend off that could've done serious damage

Kicking out to protect your space is dangerous imo

A knee is fine, should be no more than that
Its not a great look, but its not illegal. Most players choose not to do it though.

Fair enough. I guess for Redpath the security of 2 years will be too good to pass up.

He has to protect himself. Got him high and should be a free for a high fend off but it's not a reportable offence
Lol, with the ways tackles are scrutinised these days, I think he would've been in a safe situation to ride a tackle if Dahlhaus were to tackle him, even then I'm sure he would've had time to get a handball away as his hands were free.

The action was downright dangerous, the protect himself excuse is bullshit, that's why you use a knee and not kick out like that.

He shouldn't have to let himself get tackled. He was vulnerable being in the air about to be crunched and has no other option really. His foot did make contact high but has to do something to protect himself when going for the ball in the air. If we take that away from players nobody will even go far the ball in the air if it's not a mark and is that what we really want, players just tapping the ball because if they grab it they're definitely getting hit?

Nope

He could've lent in with his knee to protect himself. Dahl could've been knocked out by a knee if he ran into him but I'd pass that as accidental as that stuff happens a few times a year in marking contests, instead he extends his knee and goes high with his foot

His problem

He shouldn't have to let himself be tackled, lol please, lets just play uncontested girly stuff then......

Uncontested girly stuff is the alternative to not letting him protect himself.

His eyes are on the ball the whole time are they not? His foot doesn't go searching for Dahlhaus. Sometimes shit happens. Dahlhaus gets hit anywhere other than the head it's a non-issue so why should the outcome which Greene isn't causing (since he isn't looking for Dahlhaus) determine if he gets week

Yeah I'm sure he'd be happy to be knocked out knowing that dahlhaus will be rubbed out....

Geelong were a lot better than us today. Credit where it's due. They had to respond and they did.

Not overly disappointed though. Thought we could've been better. We definitely are better than what we served up. Just worry about our structure heading into September. Some concething signs today.

Anyway, congrats Gero, UnitedWarrior. Do your worst.
