Loser.

Pete will score runs. This English attack will be impotent in Australian conditions.
Yeah, the flat, hard Australian decks will cater to his technique. He's ineffective elsewhere, I feel.

Do you not think the way our home pitches are prepared are setting back our chances against the likes of SA/England away from home? When the conditions are less than ideal we more often than not crumble.. badly. See Joburg 2011/Nottingham 2015/Hobart 2016/Melbourne 2010. RE the most latter, that series here which England took 3-1 was an outlier. Anderson, Tremlett and Bresnan tore through our top order on multiple occasions. I agree their attack will struggle to take 20 wickets each match, but depending on conditions, SOME damage will be done. You'd hate to face Anderson under lights at AO.

Of course it's setting us back, he just spent last Winter playing County cricket for Yorkshire, Headingly being the hardest ground to score on historically.
They have a s**t spinner and only 1 paceman who worries me, Broad.

We were blessed with Gilly. The 6 state keepers didn’t even score 100 combined in the last round of shield matches.
In fairness, Harper, Peirson and Inglis have like 20 FC games experience between them

Gilly was both a blessing and a curse. He redefined what our keepers had to do and be, not by intent, but simply by virtue of being arguably the greater batsman-keeper of all time.

Asking those who've followed him to be equivalent is akin to expecting the Australian #3 who followed Bradman to average 99....

Even if we remove the high standards that Gilly has set for those who follow and expect far less the keepers we have are falling short. They're barely above tailender status atm. Don't think any of them made a score this shield round either.

32 by Numbnuts Nevill probably the highest. Welp.

Cam Bancroft carried his bat. First keeper to do so in SS in something like 60 years.

Carey got 36 in the first dig. If he can make a quick fire 50 tomorrow he might fall over the line.

Starc got two hatty's in the same game haha. That's equal parts impressive and depressing for the domestic game.
The LBW he got in the first hat-trick was a terrible decision. If I paid that umpiring U15's, I wouldn't be umpiring the next week.
