Only just started bowling after shoulder surgery. Smith doesn’t bowl all rounders a lot either. So not liking the chances of him legitimately being a bowling option.

Expect Maxwell to replace MMarsh in the squad for the Boxing day test where the spinning allrounder will be more useful.

1) because England are useless and have a medium-fast pace attack
2) the English batting lineup is ordinary
3) we are 2-0 up.

Handscomb offers absolutely zero at the moment. If Mitch Marsh comes in, at least he gives the quicks a chop out. Something > nothing.

His best is an average around 25. That's probably as bad as you'd get from a specialist batsman.

Based on scores he hit over 12 months ago. He's living off past glories, his recent average is absolutely atrocious.

Handscomb is a walking wicket with the bat. If this game was in Melbourne it would be Maxwell in for Pete. Instead, it will be Maxwell in for Mitch Marsh in Melbourne.
