bar a couple of players this england team is way off it. could easily replace both openers, pope, butler and no one would really notice. plus stokes looks well and truly stuffed.

I know very little about their depth in the squad chosen here. Surely there are some changes to be made for the next test, their batting in particular looks paper thin.

Burns looks in all sorts. Root and Malan at least have shown some fight and value their wicket. I don’t know who else can come in to strengthen them, but they’re going to need to do something. This is a procession.

Their top 3 average just over 30 in Test Cricket. Pope averages 30, stokes 36.. It's a disaster of a batting line up. Joe Root the only who can actually bat.

Pope is such an odd one, he averages over 50 at FC level. Got a bit of the Warners about him - T20 specialist who transformed to FC player but hasn't done well so far.

But if they do, then you have to wonder why you wouldn’t just have England follow on after their 1st inning? This test would have ended yesterday.
