The Australian Greens - What are they Doing?

Ah yes, the external fallback of the internet troll. You’re playing right to type.

Still waiting for a list of all those hilarious right wing comedians.

I’ll get you guys started. PJ O’Rourke.
Evidence suggests left wing people need professionals to help them laugh.

My favourite left wing comedian is Sarah Hanson Young. From the in infamous parliament session in which she referred the fictional TV series ‘Sea Patrol’ as a documentary, lambasting Ray Hadley for what Alan Jones said and being forced to apologise to Ray on the basis of legal advice and more recently releasing a statement saying that Australia Day marked the date Captain Cook sailed into Botany Bay. She is the gift that keeps on giving and is by far my favourite left/right comedian that provides an endless amount of laughs.

You need to save this sort of thing for Krackpot Konservative Memes and Kartoons thread ... you'll look a lot less sillier there.

I miss the KKKorner thread :(

If you ask around, I think you'll find a disinclination to laugh at Fat Yak's desperately witless offerings is more likely to be evidence of a very good sense of humour.
Good circle work. You have the gift to be a greens senator.

You’re the one doing the circle work pal.

Make the case that Fat Yak’s posts are actually hilarious. That’s where this started, remember? Everything since has been you trying to shift focus.
Not defending those unfunny posts. More interested in this left wing right wing comedians comparison. I think it’s bullshit.

Just speculating.
But is there more left wing comedians around because in general the left are more sad and depressed and more in need of a laugh?
Not my perception. Two of my favourite leftish comedians, Stewart Lee and Mark Thomas, both come from essentially a positive point of view on a negative reality- the world is f***ed, but we can do a lot better.

Mark Thomas wrote “As Used On The Famous Nelson Mandela - Underground Adventures In the Arms and Torture Trade” - one of the most incredible books I’ve ever read - utterly horrifying, and utterly hilarious. Check it out.

I'm reliably informed that there's a huge battle simmering within the Greens between the trans community and TERFs.
Hopefully they all fight to the death and there is no one left standing.

Enemies within as Greens caught in civil war

If ever there was a moment for a minor party with an environmental focus to take its place on the political centre stage, you would expect this state election to be it. Instead the NSW Greens are racked by a civil war that has been fought in fits and starts for years and now threatens to tear it apart.
...
"I don’t know what the platform is," says one despondent activist of the Greens' campaign. "I don’t even know what the f---ing slogan is."
...
Now a long-term parliamentary staffer, Jack Gough, is also resigning, telling the Herald that he believes those scientists who say the world has only a dozen or so years to act on climate change. In his view, a hard-left faction in the NSW Greens is determined instead to focus on a quixotic campaign to dismantle capitalism in the cause of revolutionary socialism.
In a Facebook post announcing his departure to members last week he wrote: "While the global Green movement represents me and my political philosophy, the NSW Greens no longer do."
....The fissure
To understand the rift, it helps to remember a bit about the party’s history. The Australian Greens, which is a confederation of state parties rather than a single entity, was born not only of Tasmanian environmental activism but also from the Western Australian nuclear disarmament movement and parts of the radical industrial left in NSW.

Will be delicious if the election result reflects the latest poll the RWNJs are celebrating so raucously...it will put the Greens back in the driving seat.
...and at least 2 Ministers would get thrown out on those figures and Labor would romp in with a huge win in the HoR
Can't see what they are happy about....kind of like "well we could have got a kick to balls, now we are only going to get a punch in face" and they see that as a win

What comes after biting off your nose to spite your face?
