It's all just a bit of fun. Creating a cult hero to keep ourselves entertained. I don't think anyone has realistic expectations of him becoming a 100-goal-a-season player,but he does look like he has a bright future.

Speak for yourself.

Juice = 200 Goal 2008 Season.

I hope Dean Bailey brings to Melbourne that ability to win even when we shouldn't. By that I mean a smart coach who can extract wins by outthinking the opposition and winning even if we haven't dominated the game - a bit like Port this year. We also need a coach who won't take any crap and will drag players for not following team rules... oh yeah we need a coach with team rules as well. I don't care what anyones says, we haven't had any consistent forward pressure since I can remember - even last year. Sure we won a lot of games and looked good last year but the ball kept coming out too easily. Neita is getting on, Davey can't lay a proper tackle (apart from the run down from behind) and if Robbo doesn't mark it the ball is already in the midfield by the time he is back on his feet. Look at the successfull teams of the last few years, Sydney, WCE and now perhaps Geelong - they all tackle up forward like their lives depend on it. How many times have you seen the Dees absolutely dominate a game only to win by a couple of goals - no forward pressure!

End of rant.

Rant warranted though. Appart from Davey (at times) we seem to allow teams easy passage out of our offensive 50. I agree that Bailey needs to come and and stamp his authority on the club. Obviously the people above gave him the job because they liked where he could take the club. Let him come in and do his thing. Trade a few biggish names, draw a line in the sand and anyone who doesn't want to follow his plan can leave.

If we had a strong full back then everything else would fall into place. Unfortunately we don't, so we have to have some guys playing above their weight, and some guys in the team that shouldn't be there anyway.
