Why is it these grubs arent in jail or about to be?

Westpac has made over 22 million illegal transactions including enabling live paedophile shows that the federal police warned them was happening.

And yet today i see the ceo being ousted with a 2.7 million dollar handshake.

A lot of the Royal Commission stuff was hot air and either stuff ups by incompetent individuals or reflecting the crap legacy systems banks have because they want to pay dividends rather than upgrade IT and shareholders and mgt seem happy to live with the operational risk (having to refund customers etc). The fact the RC was hot air is reflected by how much real structural change has come out of it.. bugger all. The only recommendation that would have made an impact.. mortgage broker changes.. got the arse because it would have benefited the banks and cost people jobs.

This Westpac stuff though was something much worse IMO. It was a new product they launched knowing they couldn’t comply with the AML requirements, there was links to child exploitation and they pushed ahead anyway. Absolutely appalling.

Keep this example in mind if you think cryptos are the next big thing too. There’s a reason why payments should run through properly monitored systems at regulated institutions.

They big banks make up a massive chunk of the index in Australia, I'd be very surpised if they avoided being invested in them at all.
