go to agree, but he has a record almost identical to hughes... shows what faith and consistent selection can do with his turnaround. hasnt smith been given some major leeway?
He's been given chances in a different way, as opposed to getting long stints, he's been picked without doing much at Shield level, but it's paid off.
I've always rated McCullum very highly. Love the way he goes about his cricket.
Has come a long way from the very good gloveman who once batted as a slogger at #8 in the test team.
Good to see a few of the top order score well. Smith is the real deal, and it's also nice to be able to say that Watson isn't a walk up start when fit again.
Fast bowling stocks are awesomeat the moment. We have the best spinner now since Warne.
Rogers age and low scores are an issue.
How's the experience differences.
Our top 4 scored 440 runs in that test, with a combined total of 49 tests, wth only Rogers missing out.
Their top 4 scored 90 runs in the test , with a combined total of 230 tests
Agree wholeheartedly on Smith, they got it right picking him. If he can improve his bowling even a little bit too, that would be great as a 5th option.
The bowling attack is the key, even when we struggled, we had a good pace attack, just there were problems elsewhere. It's good to see that there's some actual faith in Lyon too, it was ridiculous when despite him bowling well, he was getting dropped in India for Doherty, or in England for Agar, or there was talk of 4 quicks. He was underrated, but it seems he's finally getting the credit for what is now close to 3 years as the best spinner we have.
