When Tiramanne got out, he had to be the one to escalate, by that point he'd faced at least 30 balls. Instead he left it to the two new batsman to try and get the scoreboard ticking over, that's how new batsmen get out. You can't park yourself up one end in a limited overs match and leave all the work to the other guys, it's not a test match.

Had he gone after them then he probably would've still got more than he finished with, and he might have even found some touch out there that took him to a higher score. Instead he let f***ing JP Duminy dictate to him, the guy doesn't even turn the ball, he should've been bullying the pie chucker.

If you're going to defend Sangakarra's efforts today, I bet you loved what Paul Collingwood did in the Adelaide test years ago?

You're still not addressing the argument, your favourite player spudded it up on the big stage and you're all about deflection, deflection, deflection. :$
What's to address.....he had a scratchy innings, but t his credit he tougher it out.......I already said that, but in your angst to be right, you missed it!

Toughing it out is only really that effective in long form cricket though, in the ODIs you still need to be looking at going for more than 3 an over during a tough patch. He let the bowlers dictate to him (even the part-timer) and in doing so increased the pressure on himself and his side. He was facing Tahir and Duminy, he had 30 deliveries under his belt, he had to look to score, instead he played right into South Africa's hands. What was the point in him 'toughing it out' against Steyn and Morkel if he wasn't going to attack Duminy?

None of them batted that well, but he didn't make it easy for anyone.

Porters laying the smack down on the ICC........ :hearts:
To be fair, following the story on Cricinfo, the ICC as an organisation appear to do a lot for the associates as it is, but the big 3 now controlling everything is what's going to screw things going forward.

Anyone go to the G to watch the Bangers take on the Indians?
Let me paint the picture...

My fiancée has just received her Australian permanent residency, and as per Department of Immigration requirements, we are currently sitting by a pool at our resort in Bali (preparations for the "Silence Festival" means the usual hot sports are off the radar).

Work, since I left on the Monday, have been asking me everything from "how do we extend "client_x's" marketing reach, content reach, and other boring things that include big words and references to Bombers 2003

Today, ironically, is the only day that I have not received a single message. Most of my department are of Indian or Bengal background.

They went offline at 11:30 am Indonesian time - the same time zone minus a century for our South Australian friends playing at home - or 2:30 PM AEST

This does not answer your question even remotely

Actually a pretty solid start from the Bangers, kudos. Will be interested to see how they handle Ashwin.
It's still a mountain to climb though, they had them in a good spot with the score at about 3/150 from 35, but India got away.

These fielding changes for the last 10 overs are ruining the game, teams sit back even more from overs 10-35 than they did before.

Couple of years ago, it looked like there was going to be a war between India and Pakistan. Some bright spark realised no work would get done at either general staff if the cricket was on.

Cue one hastily arranged series ... and by the time it was over, the diplomats had the crisis sorted.

I started off on a tangent and had to resort to the OP quoted, never a good sign when trying to make sense.

And thanks! :) She's wrapped, although she now thinks she has poetic licence to say "fair dinkum" at every opportunityo_O
