yeah it does to level 21.16. i got it on audio when i was planning to become good at it and never did. test would run for 21min about. my record is 8.7 in year 8.lol. what r everyone elses best scores?

Yep the one I downloaded goes for 22 mins.*

Don't know if that's the official full one or not though.

*I've got in on my ipod to play through the car stereo down the oval. It's a bit weird when you're crankin out the tunes and the beep test suddenly comes on though.

So it would seem as if the levels do correspond roughly to minutes, like I thought. 21 mins + 16 x 20m for the last minute = 22 mins.

If you can run 16 x 20m in a minute after having already run for 21 mins, you win! :D

lol with the beep test on the ipod. i thought i would be the only 1 with that on my ipod! i no what u mean when ur getting into some good music to hear start level 1.... beep

I got 13.8 in year 9 IIRC. Record for my class was 18.6 by a kid who played soccer for Victoria.

Also in response to the person that said each level takes a minute. How can each level take a minute when the beeps keep coming quicker and quicker?!?

Get a life. Why would anyone care about the exact procedure of a beep test. That fact that it starts slow and then gets faster until you can't run anymore should satisfy any normal person with even half a life. Why don;t you find out useless information from another source rather than wasting everybodies time. Good day

Wow. Did someone run over your boyfriend or something?

um i dont no if his right or not but like level 1 goes for like 7 stages and the stages get more and more like it goes to level 21 and 16 stages so the 1 min theory might be right.

Loved and still loves the beep test, rememebr getting 7.3 in year 7, now i can get 11.8....memories.

Really? So that kid is fitter than Beckham?

I'm pretty sure there are different "beep tests".

The one we did in high school was really easy to get to 9/10 even if you were only moderately fit. We'd generally have all bar one or two people get level 8s, and half-a-dozen get into the teens.

The one i did had the least fit people dropping out on level 4 and the highest anyone in my year reached was level 12 (and he was a apsolutely amazing runner).

Aaron Joseph (carlton rookie) ran a 16.x one day in my class.

That was after a double - PE lesson, and then a lunchtime chasing the footy.

Don't know what he'd run now.

cheers to everyone else for answering my question :thumbsu:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-stage_fitness_test - details each level of the test. Total 4,940 metres

The test involves running continuously between two points that are 20 m apart. These runs are synchronized with a pre-recorded audio tape or CD, which plays beeps at set intervals. As the test proceeds, the interval between each successive beep reduces, forcing the athlete to increase velocity over the course of the test, until it is impossible to keep in sync with the recording.

The recording is typically structured into 23 'levels', each of which lasts around 63 seconds (the shortest level is level 1, lasting 59.29 seconds, the longest is level 8, lasting 66 seconds). Usually, the interval of beeps is calculated as requiring a speed at the start of 8.5 km/h, increasing by 0.5 km/h with each level. The progression from one level to the next is signaled by 3 rapid beeps. The highest level attained before failing to keep up is recorded as the score for that test. In Canada, the 17 Level beep test may be used instead.

You know how if u miss 2 beeps or runs or whateva ur out.

Say ur Running from point A to point B and the beep goes before u reach it, do u have to make it to point B before you go back to point A or can u turn around where u are and go to point A?

If you can turn around where you are then u can stand on the one line the whole day and complete it.

I've attempted to do the highest level(starting off there, not going through to it) and it's impossible. You have to travel 20 metres in under 4 seconds, stop, turn around and go again 16 times.

So to those saying people have finished it are full of shit, the highest anyone's ever gotten is about 17, and even saying that's a stretch.

I did a beep test last week and got 10.5 before the dodgey school disc screwed up for the second time while i was doin it.
