best bang for your buck single malt? Lagavulin can be found around the $80 range and is glorious

Hear, hear!

Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg are the three greatest things to come out of Scotland. Everything else is irrelevant.

Unfortunately, DM has recently increased the price of Lagavulin. However, it is still the best 'bang for buck' single malt.

I love the wheat beers. Love them. German in me. Last time i went down to watch my team, me and the Mrs decided to go into the hills, Lobethal. They have a nice brewery. We had a Hefeweisein or six. Then back to Grumpys and smashed a wood fired pizza. And some more beers :p

You guys have got some good botiquie brewerys, and good food. :thumbsu:

Lobey brewery has a great wheat beer and pilsner, but if you like hoppy brews you have to go to the brew boys at regency park and try a hoppopotimus.

V-Tex is a new gadget which chills drinks from room temperature to 4 degrees in about 45 seconds.

yep, don't mind a drop of red and love my single malts.

don't mind a good cider but they can get a bit too sweet if having more than 1.

I might be wrong, but I think a lot of those beers still have some kind of malt/gluten content. I believe some malted barley is required to extract certain enzymes, but correct me if I'm wrong.

That could be true, I really don't know. I have a GF mate who drinks them, but everyone's tolerance is different to it I guess.

Also try Fat Yak...
Yeah I've tried that, Matilda bay's beers are good, despite being owned and operated in Victoria now.
Beez Neez, red back are both wheat beers. Give them a try.

I've also like Little Creature Pale Ale.
Little creature have a few good beers, I wouldn't mind doing a tour of the brewery over there one day

When I was young, real men drank Southwark Green Death, or West End draught..Coopers was something that nancy boys drank. Over the years I started getting heartburn/indigestion from any of the generic beers, such as VB, or Tooheys or XXXX and just couldn't enjoy beer anymore. Then someone suggested to me that it was the preservatives they use in beer that was causing it and to try Coopers Pale Ale. I did and never looked back. But a few days ago I started a new pain medication and can't drink alcohol at all anymore :(

I am finding it harder and harder to drink alcohol without the nasty after effects......even after just one or two

Looks like I may be going dry, whether I like it or not

As I've gotten a bit older I've learnt to enjoy beer, whereas when I was younger it was just drink to get drunk.
In sitting I'll usually have no more than a six pack.
