A good local craft beer is Two Birds. There Taco Beer is amazing. It is pricey but worth it

A poll would be nice on how we prefer our beer. Tap, can, bottle or home brew.

Tap, by a country mile.

Cans easily the worst. They make bad beer taste even worse.

Good thread. I enjoy coopers pale as my go to beer. I'm not a snob though and love a cold carlton draught, especially on tap.

How about a shout out to popular beers we dislike? I know a lot of people into homebrew or craft beers tend to despise VB. I once heard a customer in a homebrew shop ask the owner "how do I make VB?" and the owner replied "squeeze a cat". Personally I think tooheys extra dry tastes like pool water.

Great thread jmac70 Don't know how I missed it. I have no dutch blood that I know of, but by god they make a nice brew. My favourite is Grolsch. About $45 a slab from celarbrations. When purchasing look at the bar code on the box carefully. If the barcode starts with a 9, then it is made under licence by Fosters & doesn't taste as good. If your slabs barcode starts with an 8 then it is authentic Grolsch from Holland. Yummo :)

Same deal on the stubby itself. A barcode starting with an 8 is the product to buy. Highly recommended.

When I lived in Ireland for a year I always thought a pint of Guiness was a meal in itself but a pint of Murphys was a life elixir .

I did a Contiki tour of Ireland many years ago. We went to a pub that gave you a voucher for a free pint of Murphy on arrival. All I remember of the night was going in and out of the pub to get my free pints. Lovely drop and a wicked hangover!

Fosters or Tooheys Gold is the worst beer I've tasted.

Carlton or VB are my go to beers, at most pubs around here VB is 5.00 a schooner, Carlton is 5.60. I go VB not because I'm a tight arse but I don't want 20 million coins in my pocket. :p

If I'm down at my local I love Carlton draught on tap absolute nectar been a fan for 25 years.Only have a few it's just to expensive to drink out these days

The price of beer at pubs is way too high.

Sure is I only go for for a meal and a couple of bevies, there has been a massive drop off in pub drinkers since the smokers got kicked outside not sure if that's increased prices I suppose alcohol tax hasn't helped.

Tell me about it. A couple of quiet ones after work yesterday turned into a 130 buck beer and gambling session. So mad at myself, the whole day's pay gone! Lol

Sounds like a pleasant evening.

Cold!
In glass best, so bottle for me is best.
Tap next,
Agree the wise scholar who said cans make the taste less.

Mr Mac
Your beer genius is a pleasure to read.
I did have a beer once in Belgium (local thing) in a big round glass with their specialty meat dish and to say divine would be a gross disservice, the combo was perfect. Still can see it right now.
Delicious
