It's based on their careers. Lloyd and Hird are no-brainers. Michael was regarded as the best defender of the early 2000s, and Fletcher the late 1990s. Can't believe I forgot Brown.

In reply to the guy who asked why we are crap despite these four great players at Essendon: three of them are past their prime and don't have long left. Based on current form, only Lloyd would make it. Don't forget Essendon was the club between 1999 and 2001. Obviously a couple more Brisbane players need to be there, as well as some Sydney and West Coast players.

I'm asking for players on their careers. Shaw and Ablett aren't there yet. Mooney on a wing? This is based on form more than anything. Don't find many complaints from me about this one, if it's on form. (I'd say Lloyd's better than Fevola, but I'm as biased as anything)

I think you need to consider some other options mate.

Fletcher is/was overrated

In three/four years I'll happily put Glass at full-back but he isn't there yet. Disagree on Fletcher, but each to his own.

How about this:

B: Two of Fletcher/Michael/Scarlett + a more traditional BP (Clement?/Archer)
HB: Dal Santo...Cornes...McLeod
C: Goodes?...West...Buckley
HF: Hird...Brown...?
F: Two of Lloyd/Fevola/Richo + a forward pocket (Didak or someone better?)
R: White/Everitt...Judd...R. Harvey
Int: The other of White/Everitt...Black...Aker...?

Glass isn't there yet. Probably in a few years time.

EDIT: Harvey would probably be one of the very unlucky ones.

Yes, Mooney's on the wing; only because I wanted to squeeze him into the 22. He can swap with White in the ruck, and you can drop Lade from the bench and bring in Bartel if that makes you happier!

Heath Shaw has been outstanding so far.
