Already been said, but I'd probably go with Metallica. Ride The Lightning / Master of Puppets / ...and Justice for All. 3 absolutely amazing albums.

But even more impressive, I reckon Iron Maiden have the best run of 5 albums ever.

Number of the Beast / Piece of Mind / Powerslave / Somewhere in Time / Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Mate, go 6 albums:

Number of the Beast / Piece of Mind / Powerslave / Live After Death / Somewhere in Time / Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

They gradually came to annoy me but...Midnight Oil: Place Without a Postcard, 10-1, Red Sails In the Sunset.

You AM I: Sound As Ever, Hi Fi Way, Hourly Daily

Papa G I reckon if you sub out Red Sails and whack in Head Injuries you have the Oils best 3 albums.

you mean those 2 songs?

although you could probably bank on Burial's third album being up there with 'Untrue'

Fountains of Wayne (self-titled, 1996); Utopia Parkway (1999); Welcome Interstate Managers (2003).

Great choice.:thumbsu:

Yeah, came into consideration, but I'm a big fan of Red Sails to tell the truth. When the Generals Talk, Best of Both Worlds, Sleep, Minutes to Midnight, Who can stand in the Way, Kosciusko, Helps me helps you all great songs. Great album cover as well.

Head injuries is more raw and a great album, would probably put it in before Place Without a Postcard, but doesn't then fit the criteria for 3 in a row if I want Red Sails.

Nah I meant the albums before Help!, since this is about the number of brilliant albums in a row. Yellow Submarine comes after The White Album which ruins the streak, if Abbey Road came after The White Album, I'd be saying 7 brilliant albums in a row.

I agree about Let It Be being an underrated album. It's got a similar quantity of great songs to that of their classic albums, (Two Of Us, Across The Universe, I've Got A Feeling, The Long And Winding Road, Let It Be, Get Back), but the quality of most of their best songs, I don't feel, match up to the one's in the classic albums, but they're not far off. It isn't rated well because it's unfairly compared to its predecessors.

I agree with AMG, they gave the album 4.5, that's what I'd give it. I think it's superior to Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, and Beatles For Sale.

Even the Beatles lesser albums that have been mentioned are still much better then most bands best. Many classic singles on them, the whole album not quite as good, but thats in comparison to the standard they set themselves.

Yeah fair enough. I'm a bit the opposite I would always have Place Without A Postcard as it is my favourite Midnight Oil album and in my humble opinion their best work.

Either way Red Sails is where it all ended sadly...
