I think with all the drama that goes on in this place it's sometimes easy to forget the good. Teams going under, captains going nuts, awards season media whoring and bizarre manifestos take the shine off the league and take our focus off what matters, the people that make the league great.
Before mum revokes my internet access for the night, I thought I'd take the time to focus on things that have made the league great recently.

Only noticed this guy this week going through old media and other match threads and what I saw really impressed me.
This guy posts with quality and creativity and has been an asset to their team all season. Quietly chugging along with the guidance of Joe, wooshette and Frankston Rover, it's not shocking at all that they've quickly added to the culture over at the Warriors.
That brings me to my next point.
Stability
With a few teams in real trouble (Furies, Gumbies and Dragons have been identified as at risk for next season) it's sometimes good to point towards an example of a solid long term team when guiding rebuilds.
There are two examples I want to focus on. First of all, the warriors represent the best possible results that holding onto old heads can bring. Frankston Rover and Wooshette have consistently drove that team forward and show that long tenures in leadership roles can only be good for teams as long as they stay motivated. Long may these leaders reign.
As a member of a team under the pump, it's good to have teams to aspire to. Team Pump, or the Mount Buller Demons, are another team that represent stability in the league. The demons have fostered this through an unmatched team culture.
The demon's are an interesting club in that you can basically start at a season 26 player and follow their mentor through to another mentor and so forth back for years. The Demons have had strong leaders for years and Yakker is the latest in a long line of strong, positive, no bullshit leaders to grace the league. So much has to be said of smartys power, Van Dyke and cats2rise when analysing why the Demons are where they are today.

As I continue to espouse the values of team culture I have to focus on my opponents for this week, the Swamprats. It's been a genuinely lovely week with them with the highlight being the majority of the team jumping at the chance to participate in a January charity drive for Alzheimer's disease. The swamprats have so much heart and it was genuinely heartwarming to see their almost rabid enthusiasm to get behind the cause. Shoutout to captain ant bear for continuing to foster this culture that previous captains have built and for inspiring the focus on Alzheimer's for the charity drive this January. More to come on that later.
New Lessons
My week with the Swamprats has taught me one key thing; kindness begets kindness. When I go into a match thread acting like a toxic belligerent 12 year old I get that attitude right back. When I come in with a wholesome and frankly, Saint-like attitude, I get kindness in return from the majority of the swamprats cohort.
This is a lesson for all of us to take into an off season that is projecting to be quite challenging and chaotic for all. If we approach things positively we as a league will be able to get through the challenges ahead with all 12 teams in tact.
I'll end with this mesmerising ballad from up and coming band, Holy Holy, as we enter into a new era of peace, kindness and love in this league.
Namaste, Sweet FA.
