The OP did say, "in your lifetime". In my lifetime I cannot think of a WA player who comes anywhere near Polly Farmer. The guy reinvented ruck and revolutionised the use of handballing as an offensive weapon.

I appreciate you may not have seen Farmer, but let me tell you Franklin, Cripps and Fyffe, while good, are nowhere near Farmer IMHO.

Lenny Hayes was a great player, but I feel like Heeney was better, or at the very least his ceiling was higher.
