DRAGONS FFC (Season 21)
9 wins 7 losses. Finished 3rd of 12 teams
1800 points for. 1678 points against. 107.27%
FINALIST : Drew Qualifying Final. Won Qualifying Final Replay. Lost Preliminary Final.

One of the worst defending teams in Season 21 and the best scoring team that season was this Dragons team. Of their 16 home and away games they scored less than 100 just five times, with a high of 164 points in the final round, which they then surpassed in the qualifying replay with a score of 167.

TITANS (Season 3)
8 wins 1 draw 9 losses. Finished 4th of 10 teams
1808 points for. 1691 points against. 106.92%
FINALIST : Won Elimination Final. Lost Semi Final.

A high scoring team supporting an average backline that made the finals with a losing record. It could have been a lot worse for this team as they won their last four games (and five of their last six) to storm in to the finals.

MOUNT BULLER DEMONS (Season 24)
10 wins 6 losses. Finished 3rd of 12 teams
1599 points for. 1538 points against. 103.97%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

Finished the H&A season in 3rd as a result of a 4 point penalty despite having the best record (and 2nd best percentage) of Season 24. This Demons team was around the seasons average for points scored and points allowed.

SOUTHERN DRAGONS (Season 12)
6 wins 1 draw 7 losses. Finished 5th of 8 teams
1305 points for. 1187 points against. 109.94%

The highest ranked team to have not made the finals and the highest ranked team with a winning percentage less than 50%.
This Dragons team missed the Season 12 finals by half a game despite ranking in the top 3 for points scored, being the best defending team and having the 2nd best percentage that season. Closing out the season with 4 straight losses, including a 57 point defeat in the last round was a heart breaking end for a decent outfit.

#71

ALBERTON SWAMPRATS (Season 4)
13 wins 11 losses. Finished 6th of 13 teams
2251 points for. 2103 points against. 107.04%
FINALIST : Lost Elimination Final.

The second best defending team of Season 4 was the catalyst behind the Swamprats making the finals. Their forward line wasn't overly bad, falling around the mid range for points scored, but the tailed off towards the end of the season, including their finals match, where they scored less than 75 points in five of their last eight games.

ALBERTON SWAMPRATS (Season 16)
9 wins 9 losses. Finished 6th of 10 teams
1799 points for. 1666 points against. 107.98%
FINALIST : Won 1st Elimination Final. Lost 2nd Elimination Final.

The Swamprats present to themselves on their 2nd comeback to the league was a finals berth by a narrow 1.65%. The Season 16 Swamprats were the best defending team of that season and were neither great nor awful with their scoring efforts. In a finals system that must have been borrowed from BASEketball, the Swamprats faced two elimination finals in their finals campaign, succumbing in the 2nd match.

BAGHDAD BOMBERS (Season 11)
13 wins 1 draw 7 losses. Finished 2nd of 8 teams
2045 points for. 1985 points against. 103.02%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

A successful Home and Away season for the Season 11 Bombers. They had one of the best forward lines and their backline was also among the better ones for the year. Unfortunately their season ended with almost identical scores in the finals : 102-98 in the Semi and 103-98 in the Prelim.

13 wins 8 losses. Finished 2nd of 8 teams
1882 points for. 1857 points against. 101.35%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

Only one Season 10 team scored less than the Furies and that team missed the finals. For points allowed the Furies were clearly the best of season 10, that proved pivotal in four wins where they couldn't score more 83 points.

MOUNT BULLER DEMONS (Season 17)
12 wins 6 losses. Finished 1st of 10 teams
1888 points for. 1833 points against. 103.00%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The Season 17 Demons come in as the lowest ranked minor premier.
This Demons team was the second highest scoring team of season 17, but only two teams allowed more points. Their season got off to a rocky start, with a 2 win 3 loss record after round 5, punctuated with a 92 point loss, however they won 7 of the next 8 games to set them up coming in to the finals. The Demons record was boosted by their ability to win the close games, going undefeated in four games decided by 10 points or less.

SEVENTH WONDERS (Season 2)
10 wins 4 losses. Finished 1st of 8 teams
1391 points for. 1345 points against. 103.42%
FINALIST : Drew Semi Final. Lost Semi Final replay. Won Preliminary Final. Lost Grand Final.

The second minor premier to appear on this list, just ahead of the first minor premier to appear. This Wonders team only outscored two teams, both of who missed the finals. On the defensive side of the coin they gave up the least points in Season 2. In their four losses their average defeat was 45 points, which included a 85 point drubbing in round 7. Of their 10 wins their biggest win was 58 points and they had 6 wins less than 20 points.

GEELONG GUMBIES (Season 8)
12 wins 1 draw 8 losses. Finished 3rd of 8 teams
2149 points for. 2040 points against. 105.34%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

This Gumbies team slotted in comfortably in 3rd place in Season 8, 1 1/2 games behind 2nd place and 1 1/2 games ahead of 4th place. They were a scoring juggernaut in Season 8, but their backline was far from being the best, where only the three teams that missed the finals gave up more points that season.

#64

GEELONG GUMBIES (Season 16)
12 wins 6 losses. Finished 2nd of 10 teams
1726 points for. 1688 points against. 102.25%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

Only three teams had a worse percentage than the Gumbies in Season 16 as they struggled to score many points despite being defensively sound. However, the Season 16 Gumbies got HOT coming in to the finals. They only lost two of their last eight games and those losses were only by 5 and 9 points. They carried that hot form in to the finals all the way to the flag.

#63

TITANS (Season 2)
7 wins 7 losses. Finished 3rd of 8 teams
1501 points for. 1348 points against. 111.35%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final.

This Titans team was the best of four teams to finish with a 7 win 7 loss record in Season 2. They had the seasons best percentage on the back of one of the better scoring teams and they were also one of the better defending teams, where they only gave up 3 more points than the best defending team that season.

MOUNT BULLER DEMONS (Season 14)
11 wins 6 losses. Finished 2nd of 8 teams
1597 points for. 1535 points against. 104.04%
FINALIST : Won Semi Final. Lost Grand Final.

A top 3 team in Season 14 as far as scoring went, yet a bottom 3 team for points allowed. In all but one of their losses they conceded more than 100 points. Ultimately their scoring power was enough to overcome that to rack up 11 wins.

__________________________________________________________________________________

#61

BAGHDAD BOMBERS (Season 15)
11 wins 6 losses. Finished 1st of 8 teams
1485 points for. 1408 points against. 105.47%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

Nobody gave up less points than the Bombers in Season 15 which was a main reason they claimed the minor premiership in Season 15, despite an average season as far as points scored went. In four of their six losses they could score no more than 72 points- three of those games saw a result no larger than 13 points.

The first premier of the Sweet F.A. The first premier to finish the Home and Away season with as many losses as wins. The first premier to come from the last finals position of the year (4th of 4).

FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won 2nd Elimination Final. Lost Semi Final.

This season 16 team finished in the Top 4 that season for both points allowed and points scored. They came in to the finals with only one win from their final five games which hurt their percentage. That prevented them from a better fate in the convoluted finals series of Season 16.

Here they are! Rock you like a Hurricane!
The second best scoring team of Season 2, behind the rampant Razors unit, and one of the better defending teams.
They started the season with 1 win and a draw from their first four games before a streak of wins by 20, 43, 85, 35 and 8 points before going on another poor streak, winning 1 from their last five. They then turned on another winning streak, by not losing any of their 3 finals games.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 2.

EAST SIDE HAWKS (Season 10)
11 wins 10 losses. Finished 5th of 8 teams
2091 points for. 1924 points against. 108.68%
FINALIST : Lost Elimination Final.

Only one team scored more points in Season 10 and only one team gave up less points as the Hawks recorded the 2nd best percentage that season. Unfortunately penalties cost them a double chance spot which saw them bumped from 3rd place at the end of the Home and Away season, which resulted in an Elimination Final loss.

ROYS FFC (Season 19)
10 wins 5 losses. Finished 2nd of 12 teams
1547 points for. 1465 points against. 105.60%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

A successful season for the Roys in Season 19, finishing with the equal best record after the Home and Away games were done. This Roys team had no trouble scoring, but their backline didn't find stopping teams as easy. The season 19 Roys started with seven wins from their first eight games before hitting a cold patch in their next five games, coming away with just one win. They re-found their touch with wins of 21 and 48 points in the last two games before losing out in the Preliminary Final.

GEELONG GUMBIES (Season 17)
11 wins 7 losses. Finished 3rd of 10 teams
1816 points for. 1703 points against. 106.64%
FINALIST : Lost Elimination Final.

This Gumbies of Season 17 jumped from a 7-7 record to an 11-7 record on the strength of a backline and forward line both ranked in the Top 3 for that season. Unfortunately they couldn't produce in the Elimination Final as they lost to the eventual premiers.

MOUNT BULLER DEMONS (Season 18)
10 wins 7 losses. Finished 5th of 12 teams
1718 points for. 1639 points against. 104.82%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

This Demons team bolted out of the blocks, with four wins in their first four games and 5 from 6. They cooled off slightly on the run home, as they came back to the middle of the pack that reflected the performance of their, slightly, above average forward and backline efforts. However they got it all together in the finals, winning out from the Elimination Final to take out the premiership.

BIGFOOTY DRAGONS (Season 1)
7 wins 5 losses. Finished 2nd of 7 teams
1296 points for. 1159 points against. 111.82%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The BigFooty Dragons were the defensive standard in the competitions inaugural season. Their backline gave up less points than that seasons scoring average in 75% of their games. That backline also propelled them to a 2nd place finish after the home and away season and the seasons best percentage.

BAGHDAD BANDITS (Season 18)
11 wins 6 losses. Finished 2nd of 12 teams
1853 points for. 1702 points against. 108.87%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The newly badged Baghdad Bandits had a somewhat successful season in their new guise. The best scoring team of Season 18 was hamstrung by one of the poorer defending teams of the season. It made for some entertaining games where they lost 3 games while scoring 110 points or more and also winning 3 games while giving up 110 points or more.

FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

Starting the seasons with six wins, from as many games, this Furies team then went on a six game losing skid before closing out with 3 wins. Quite a few teams scored more points in Season 19 than the Furies, but not many gave up less points.

12 wins 4 losses. Finished 1st of 12 teams
1567 points for. 1482 points against. 105.74%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The minor premier from Season 25 was one of the poorer scoring teams of that season, but only gave up 3 more points than the best defending team that season. Of their 16 games half of them saw them give up no more than 90 points, which lead to some dour wins where they won a couple of games while scoring less than 90 points.
Their backline fell apart in the finals where they gave up an average of 122 points in their two finals losses.

This Wonders outfit was the 2nd best scoring team of Season 15 and that seasons 2nd worst defending team. This led to a number of tight finishes with nine of the Wonders 17 H&A games being decided by two goals or less - where they came away with 5 wins and a draw. The tight games carried over to the finals where they had wins of 2 and 6 points in their two finals games.

It took the Hawks 9 rounds to lose 3 games, but only 4 finals games to lose 3 games.
This Hawks team is the only team in Sweet F.A. history to have lost three finals matches in a given season. The Hawks were one of the better scoring teams in Season 16 and mid pack for points allowed.

The team of choice for the virgins of 2001. Unlike their real life name sake this team had some sporting ability and, in exciting news for those virgins, Team Kournikova loved to score and had no qualms letting others score too.
Sadly that's where the Kournikova fun ended as they became the Titans the following season.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 1.

This Furies team outscored all comers in Season 15 yet their back line couldn't keep pace, ranking among the worst few of that season. Still, this team had the best percentage of Season 15 courtesy of some big thumpings - five wins of 50 or more points. Despite those big wins, they were the lowest placed finalist of Season 15 as a result of a draw and four losses of 11 points or less.

A solid defending team in Season 9, ranking in the top 3 for points allowed and one of the better scoring teams of that season, ending the Home and Away season in 2nd place. Unfortunately they couldn't get past the eventual premiers, losing both of their finals games to them.

This Warriors team was slow out of the blocks, with one win from their first four games. By round 8 it wasn't looking any better as they sat in 9th place with a 3 win 5 loss record. In round 9 they recorded a 107 point win and found winning to their liking as they only dropped one game on their way to 2nd place at the conclusion of the Home and Away season.

The 2nd best winning percentage of Season 23, but ranked 3rd due to a 4 point penalty. The Season 23 Bears were the 2nd best scoring team of that season and their backline was just as strong. Unfortunately their forwards went missing in their first finals loss - only scoring 71 points - and their backline went missing in their second finals loss - giving up 110.

A top 4 squad in terms of points allowed and points scored. This Wonders team got off to a flyer, narrowly winning a close scoring game to open the season then, after a 2nd week bye, they rattled off 5 wins and a Draw from their next 6 games. Back to back losses were a minor setback before they rattled off 3 more wins to move to 9 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. A 4 game losing streak followed but they righted the ship to qualify for a 2nd chance final where, unfortunately, more losses followed as they lost both their finals games.

Two years after the Wonders team ranked at #42 this Wonders side managed to improve their ladder position, their percentage, their defensive ranking while keeping their scoring ranking the same, yet fell 9 goals short of reaching the Grand Final, marking a 3rd successive failed finals campaign for the Seventh Wonders, who then went in to Season 7 with a new name : West Coast Wonders.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 6.

The Season 24 minor premiers took the long way to the Grand Final, after their loss in the Qualifying final, but the run ended in disaster with a 53 point humbling in the Grand Final. A loss where their back line, despite being one of the seasons best, gave up 150 points.

Finishing the season amidst a group of four teams finishing with 12 wins was this Bombers team. Only one team scored more points than this team that season, and only one team gave up more points, leading to the 2nd best percentage of Season 7.
This Bombers team got hot towards the end of the season, winning 6 of their last 7 games and they continued their winning form through to the Season 7 premiership.

14 wins 8 losses. Finished 2nd of 12 teams

FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The only team to allow less points than the Bombers in Season 7 was the Southern Sharks - in their only season in the competition. They weren't too bad with their scoring either, finishing in the Top 3, leading to the best percentage of that season.
The Sharks got off to a strong start with 8 wins and 3 losses, but their form faltered as they went 6 and 5 the rest of the way. That up and down late season form showed up in the finals as they loss the first final (albeit due to a late team submission), won the semi comfortably and were pipped by less than a goal in the Prelim.

The Furies of season 7 were the only team to score more than 2000 points that season - which was the best by some distance.
With an average score of just under 93 points a game the Furies put up some inept scores in the finals. 50 points in their Quali loss, 65 points in their Prelim win and when they hit their straps again, scoring 120 points in the Grand Final, they found they still needed 7 more points to claim the flag.

The team with the best scoring rate and best percentage of season 17 fell a game short of the minor premiership, even with a strong backline to support them (top 3 rating for points allowed). This Dragons team were the nemesis of the Demons, who finished in 1st place that season : Defeating them by 92 points in round 5, holding them to just 6 goals 3 behinds in their Round 14 rematch (a 44 point win) and defeating them by 40 points in the Prelim.

The first and only, so far, Royals team to claim a minor premiership (we really need a trophy name for the minor premiers). This Royals team finished the season with one of the better winning percentages (70.6%) in league history and were among the better teams in both scoring and defending. A brutal Preliminary Final loss, where they led for 3 1/2 quarters before being overrun was a disappointing ending for the Royals best showing, to this point, in their history.

This Furies team was the highest scoring team of season 16, scoring just under a goal more per game than the 2nd best scoring team. Defensively they weren't as good, but still one of the better teams that season. The Furies were 2 games behind top spot and their failure to win the close games cost them both the minor premiership (1 win 3 losses in games decided by a goal or less) and a premiership, which they lost by a single point.

This Swamprats missed a shot at the double chance on percentage, which proved unfortunate as they bowed out in the Elimination Final. Two draws to teams in the bottom half of the ladder hampered the Swamprats chances at a higher finish.

The Season 25 Wonders opened the season with 4 wins from their first 5 and 8 from their first 10 before splitting their remaining games. The only team to average more than 18 goals scored per game in Season 25, this Wonders team was ably supported by one of the better defensive units of the season. FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

We're not too sure of the Demons diet in Season 4, but they had a very similar season the the Blues Brothers who ranked one spot below them. Ranking 2nd for scoring, behind the Brothers, and having a slightly better defensive team than the Blues Brothers. They also lost in the Preliminary Final, albeit to the eventual premiers by 43 points.

EAST SIDE HAWKS (Season 25)
10 wins 6 losses. Finished 4th of 12 teams
1681 points for. 1479 points against. 113.66%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

Starting the season with 8 wins from their first 9 games this Hawks team had clinched a finals berth by Round 12. They must have had finals on their mind as they lost 3 of their last four games. The second best scoring team came to the fore in their first finals game, yet dropped off dramatically in the Preliminary Final which their season leading backline couldn't overcome.

FIGHTING FURIES (Season 18)
10 wins 7 losses. Finished 3rd of 12 teams
1840 points for. 1602 points against. 114.86%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won Semi Final. Won Preliminary Final. Lost Grand Final.

They had one of the better units for points allowed and points scored, and the season 18 Furies rocked the best percentage of season 18. After a 4 win 4 loss start the season, that included losses of 62 and 43 points and wins of 64 and 60 points, the Furies knuckled down to finish the season with 6 wins and 3 losses. Their three losses averaged just 6 points, while their 6 wins averaged 38 points.

GEELONG GUMBIES (Season 18)
12 wins 5 losses. Finished 1st of 12 teams
1822 points for. 1635 points against. 111.44%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Lost Semi Final.

A very similar scoring/defending output as their season counterparts ranked at #27 this Gumbies team managed to win more games and finish with the minor premiership however. What made this more impressive was the Gumbies were winless from their first two games and in last place.
They then put together a 7 game winning streak, scoring an average of 126 points and with an average winning margin of 36 points, to be in 1st place by round 9. Another 2 game skid followed before the Gumbies won all but their last game on the way to the finals. Unfortunately another 2 game losing streak popped up in the finals.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 18.

ROYS (Season 4)
14 wins 1 draw 9 losses. Finished 5th of 13 teams
2287 points for. 2087 points against. 109.58%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

The Roys first premiership came on the back of some stout defending, where they gave up the least points of Season 4, and they were in the top half of teams as far as scoring went.
In 14 games they held opponents to less than 15 goals, taking a 11-3 record in such games (the season average was allowing 17 goals). They had a 10 game run, coming in to the finals, where they did not give up more than 100 points. Capping it off with an average of 58.7 points conceded in their last four games.
They were equally miserly in their four finals games, giving up scores of 72, 108, 73 and 65.

SOUTHERN DRAGONS (Season 10)
15 wins 6 losses. Finished 1st of 8 teams
2114 points for. 1930 points against. 109.53%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

A dominant season from the Dragons in season 10. They had the minor premiership wrapped up with 3 games remaining in the season. After a round 1 loss, they only dropped one more game from their next 9 games and were barely headed on the ladder from that point on. They were the best scoring team of season 10 and their backline was decent enough.
Though the forward line outshone the backs during the season, the forwards stumbled in the finals, where the Dragons could only score 76 points in each of their finals losses - four goals less than their season average - as they bowed out in two games.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 10.

DRAGONS (Season 5)
15 wins 7 losses. Finished 1st of 12 teams
2220 points for. 2024 points against. 109.68%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The Dragons clinched the minor premiership in Season 5 on the back of a four game winning streak to close out the season with the help of one of the competitions better winning percentages of all time. They were solid in their backline and forward line and that led to the 2nd best percentage of the season.

GEELONG GUMBIES (Season 5)
14 wins 8 losses. Finished 2nd of 12 teams
2349 points for. 2079 points against. 112.99%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

A similar fate to the 23rd ranked Dragons of season 5. One of the better forward lines and backlines, this time with the highest percentage and a reasonable winning percentage, but fell short of the minor premiership courtesy of a 6 game losing streak to close out the season. The last loss handed the Dragons 1st place. Nevertheless the Gumbies had a similar finals fate : winning the qualifying final and losing the prelim.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 5.

ROYS FFC (Season 25)
11 wins 5 losses. Finished 3rd of 12 teams
1633 points for. 1502 points against. 108.72%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

After 9 rounds the Roys had only lost 1 game to be tied for the best record in the competition at that point with the Hawks. A loss the next week still saw them with the equal best record, which became the best record outright with a win over the Hawks. That was short lived as, although they clinched a finals berth with 3 rounds remaining, they lost 3 of their next five games to move down the ladder. Old Roy heads would have thought "here we go again", but the Roys fired out of the gates in their first final, scoring 162 points in a 47 point win. They backed that up with a 40 point win in the prelim and capped it off with the premiership.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 25.

FIGHTING FURIES (Season 20)
13 wins 3 losses. Finished 2nd of 12 teams
1572 points for. 1398 points against. 112.45%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

This Furies team shared the best record in Season 20, which also tied for the best Home and Away winning percentage in Sweet FA history. Their backline was immense in Season 20, ranking among one of the best defensive seasons in Sweet FA history.
Their forwards were in the better half of teams in Season 20, but it was all about their backline as they managed to win more than half of their games where they scored less than the average score for Season 20. Their forwards found their straps in the finals after a qualifying finals loss where they only scored 74 points. They rebounded with scores of 132, 146 and a premiership winning 125.

BIGFOOTY BOMBERS (Season 4)
16 wins 8 losses. Finished 1st of 13 teams
2446 points for. 2223 points against. 110.03%
FINALIST : Won Qualifying Final. Won Preliminary Final. Lost Grand Final.

The season 4 Bombers went in to their week 5 bye with only 1 win to their name. By the time their next bye came around, in Round 18, they had added 10 more wins and just 2 more losses to move to a 11-5 record. They closed out their season with 5 more wins to tie for the best record of season 4 and penalties to other clubs handed the Bombers their first minor premiership.
The Bombers of Season 4 were one of the better scoring, and better defending, teams that year and while their forwards shone in their first two finals, they couldn't muster a big enough score in the big game despite the best efforts of their back line.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 4.

10 wins 1 draw 6 losses. Finished 3rd of 12 teams
1805 points for. 1618 points against. 111.56%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

Ranking in the top few teams for points allowed and points scored this Bears team clinched a Season 22 finals berth with two games remaining in the season, while sitting atop the ladder. A loss and a draw to teams in the second half of the ladder scuttled their chances of the minor premiership as they fell to 3rd by the end of the home and away season. That poor form carried over to the Qualifying Final where they were hammered by 79 points. However the Bears were resilient and won their remaining 3 finals matches by a combined margin of just 7 points!

This is the highest ranked team for the Las Vegas Bears.

10 wins 7 losses. Finished 3rd of 8 teams
1632 points for. 1476 points against. 110.57%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

No team scored more points in Season 14 than the Bombers, and only one team gave up more points. Their season efforts weren't reflective of their ladder position and, finding themselves two games short of the minor premiership, 3 losses by 10 or less points didn't help.
That didn't matter when it came to the finals as their forwards had 37 scoring shots in the Qualifying Final win, 29 in an inaccurate, and narrow, Prelim win and their backline was monstrous in the Grand Final, holding their vanquished opponents to 3 goals 9 behinds.

This is the highest ranked team for the Baghdad Bombers.

EAST SIDE HAWKS (Season 8)
13 wins 2 draws 6 losses. Finished 1st of 8 teams
2081 points for. 1794 points against. 116.00%
FINALIST : Won Semi Final. Lost Grand Final.

The defensive effort of the Hawks in Season 8 was one of the leagues best ever performances, which propelled the Hawks to the minor premiership, and a Grand Final berth, in Season 8.
This Hawks team was undefeated in their first 7 games, winning 6 and drawing 1.
A 44 point and 1 point loss followed before the Hawks went on another undefeated run, winning 4 and drawing another.
The Hawks split their remaining 6 games, including another 1 point loss as they tied for the best record of Season 8, finishing 1st. Unfortunately, the team that they had tied for the seasons best record one upped them in the Grand Final.

ROYS FFC (Season 22)
11 wins 6 losses. Finished 4th of 12 teams
1960 points for. 1614 points against. 121.44%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Lost Semi Final.

The Roys outscored all comers in Season 22 with the highest points scored for the season and it turned out to be one of the best scoring displays of all time. Their backline was a pretty decent unit too, with only one other team allowing less points in season 22. The Roys started out of the blocks slowly, winning only 2 of their first 6 games. What followed was an 8 game winning streak where they averaged 130 points scored with an average winning margin of 38 points. That set them up for a finals berth. Unfortunately they lost two of their remaining home and away games and that losing trend continued in the finals as they exited in straight sets.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 22.

FIGHTING FURIES (Season 8)
14 wins 7 losses. Finished 2nd of 8 teams
2073 points for. 1852 points against. 111.93%
:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

Tied for the best record in season 8 on the back of one of the seasons better all round squads, both in their forward line and their back line. They key to the Furies was not to allow more than 90 points in a game. Of their 14 wins all but three of their victories saw their opponents score less than 90 points. Of their 7 losses they gave up 90+ points on all 7 occasions. This formula carried over to the finals where they conceded 88 points in their Qualifying final win, they gave up 100 in the Prelim but had already raced past 90 points themselves by the 3rd quarter and they only gave up 82 points in their Grand Final win.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 8.

GEELONG GUMBIES(Season 11)
14 wins 7 losses. Finished 1st of 8 teams
2073 points for. 1808 points against. 114.66%
FINALIST : Won Semi Final. Lost Grand Final.

The Gumbies of Season 11 were strong at both ends of the field with the back line leading the league for least points allowed. The Gumbies back line dominated in such a way that in the first 19 rounds they only gave up more than 100 points on one solitary occasion. With a finals spot in the bag, they eased off a little bit and allowed 126 and 108 in their last two round losses. Scoring 100 points seemed to be the key to beating the Gumbies in season 11 and once the Gumbies Grand Final opponents hit 100 in the big game the game was done.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 11.

HURRICANES (Season 3)
14 wins 4 losses. Finished 2nd of 10 teams
1799 points for. 1552 points against. 115.91%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

The Season 2 reigning premier did their title defense no harm with just the four losses on the season, to have one of the better winning percentages of all time. They went in to the finals with one of the top back and forward lines and were head and shoulders above the teams below them on the ladder. However, they were outclassed in their two finals losses by the eventual premiers who found a way to shred the Hurricanes back line and end their season which, ultimately, ended the Hurricanes presence in the Sweet F.A.

CONEY ISLAND WARRIORS(Season 19)
10 wins 5 losses. Finished 1st of 12 teams
1675 points for. 1378 points against. 121.55%
FINALIST : Lost Qualifying Final. Won Semi Final. Won Preliminary Final. Lost Grand Final.

In only their second year of existence the Coney Island Warriors claimed their first and only, to date, minor premiership. They were tied with two other teams for the best record of the season.
The seasons best scoring output and one of the best defensive outputs ensured they had the best percentage for the season to enable them to claim top spot.
The Warriors started the season with just the one win from their first four games, but a 170 point explosion in Round 5 triggered a seven game winning streak before losing two of their last four. A first round finals loss, where they scored 16.10.106 was followed by two victories where they scored more than 100 points, only for them to fall in the Grand Final - in what they still call a travesty of a result - with a score of 16.10.106.

This is the highest ranked team for the Coney Island Warriors.

EAST SIDE HAWKS (Season 13)
11 wins 6 losses. Finished 3rd of 8 teams
1589 points for. 1359 points against. 116.92%
FINALIST : Won Semi Final. Won Preliminary Final. Lost Grand Final.

The Hawks of Season 13 had the 2nd best scoring output of the season, the least points allowed, the best percentage of the season and the best winning percentage. Why did they finish the Home and Away season in 3rd place?
Penalties!
7 premiership points were deducted from the Hawks that season, putting them in to a knockout final in the first week of the finals against a team who beat them by 44 points in Round 14. They reversed that result in massive fashion with a 109 point pounding, one of the leagues biggest ever finals victories.
They next faced a Bombers team who beat them twice during the season, and came out victorious with a 28 point win before facing the Wonders in the Grand Final. They split the Home and Away season with the Wonders, but couldn't win the deciding game, going down by 37 points.

:trophy: PREMIER :trophy:

The Season 13 Wonders season started with a two goal loss in Round 1 before reeling off seven straight wins. That run of wins stopped with a less desirable streak as they lost four in a row, before winning three in a row, then losing their last two home and away season.
That was still enough for the Wonders to claim the minor premiership - in addition to the Hawks being unable to get our of their own way with penalties. Despite that, this Wonders team was one of the better defending and scoring teams of Season 13 and had the ultimate bragging rights when they upended the Hawks in the Grand Final.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 13.

SOUTHERN DRAGONS (Season 14)
12 wins 5 losses. Finished 1st of 8 teams
1615 points for. 1354 points against. 119.28%
FINALIST : Lost Semi Final. Lost Preliminary Final.

This Dragons side only scored 17 points less for the season than the best scoring side in Season 14 and allowed the least amount of points that season to be one of the more dominant teams for the year.
Their points differential is one of the best 10 of all time.
They still needed the last round of the season to clinch the minor premiership in a much anticipated last round battle between themselves and the Demons. Both teams had an 11 win 5 loss record coming in to that game and for the most part it was a tight affair. The Demons held a 1 point lead at the 20 minute mark of the 3rd quarter, then the Dragons stepped up a gear to record a 22 point win and claim the minor premiership.
The two teams faced off the next week in the Semi Final and the opening goal was the only lead the Dragons held in that rematch. In the Prelim the Dragons overcame a 32 point 2nd quarter deficit to take a two goal lead in to the last quarter, unfortunately they couldn't hold on and exited Season 14 with two straight finals losses.

This is the highest ranked team from Season 14.
