What do people think of this new Crows rookie?

I don't mind this pick. With Marsh gone to Richmond (what were they thinking? ) Brad will be Westies number 1 ruckman. I think he has plenty of improvement in him and could really improve out of sight with a pre-season with AFL club under his belt.

I must admit I am a bit of a Brad Dabrowski fan. Must be the Westie in me

I'm a little surprised. Not that he can't play, but is he tall enough?? Does anyone know his stats??

He is listed at 198 cm / 96 kg.

Not overly surprised as he is the player that can be promoted to our list if one of our ruckman gets long term injury.

We have the quantity but it remains to be seen if we have the quality.

Yet to be proven one way or the other.

Andrews appears to be a reasonable long-term selection.

Given the lack of ruckman in the crop of 2003, interest in Rowan Andrews is no doubt high. I'm not totally sold myself, he had a very disappointing carnival after showing real promise in the lead-up games. However, anyone who saw his form in the Challenge Cup would agree he has some real potential.

Rowan's main strength is his marking - can take some great grabs, contested as well. I wouldn't say his ruckwork is anything to write home about, but it usually isn't at this level. He was persevered with in the ruck for most of the carnival, but I think he could have done with some time up forward as well.

In a Challenge Cup match against Northern Territory he almost turned the game when moved forward in the final term, kicking a couple of goals and sparking a Mariners revival.

However, there are some things that worry me. His decision-making can be poor, and his kicking can let him down too. He seems to prefer to dispose by hand when possible. He works hard though and is reported to have an excellent attitude.

Like I said I have my doubts, but any ruckman will be a punt this year so you might as punt on him. Late pick. "

My gut tells me that come the draft time next year we will still be looking for a quality ruckman.

Next year we must stack up on quality midfielders. None of the David Gallagher crap.

Sadly I agree with your gut. Let's hope it's just wind!!!

Also agree with the mid-fielder comment. That has to be the emphasis in next year's draft.

I vaguely remember him I know he played in the early to mid 70's and IIRC was a copper. I know he had a copper's moustache

He was a copper, and had bandy legs which made him about 2 inches shorter than he should have been. Would have been about 6'2" to 6'3".

Henry played a few games as a CHF but his best games were as a CHB and a good one at that.
