Liverpool didnt create enough chances in the 2nd half. I think Benayoun looked quite good when he was brought on, he needs to start in the first XI against these top 4 teams. Liverpool looked crap as in the 2nd half and I think its safe to say we can rule them out of the premiership race.

Carragher and Riera had pretty poor games IMO and it was always a concern whenever Anelka or Drogpa went anywere near Jamie.

Mascherano was good until the mistake which cost us a goal while Torres didn't have the best of games partly due to lack of service.

Johnno and Insua were pretty good and it was a huge improvement by them from the Fiorentina match.

Benayoun should of started the match.

When the commentators said that we could play until christmas and still not score it pretty much summed up our evening.

It's only 6 points, and it remains to be seen what impact Aquillani will have but we need to improve. Chelsea are looking a good thing for the title with Manure nowhere near the team they've been in previous years.

I thought we looked vulnerable down the flanks, Johnson in particular at sea against Anelka. Mascherano giving the ball away was a result of him wanting something to happen.

Big hole in the central of midfield, Lucas is just a waste of space. Hopefully both Aquilani and Agger will be right for the next game.

We didn't deserve to lose by 2 goals, but then again we didn't really deserve anything from the match. Too little creativity, too much hoofing.

Dropba was the provider on each occasion but he reamins a ****ing disgrace with his play acting. Even Terry gave him a gee up at one stage.

Very tight for 60 mins, the sort of game where a crucial mistake could turn it and Mascherano, who up until then had been very good, was the culprit.

Riera was poor, but I found it strange that Benitez chose him rather than a holding midfielder for our first sub after we'd gone a goal down.

Torres had two reasonable chances, one in each half, but had an off day.

Gerrard had a shocker. He's making a habit of this against Chelsea. When Torres is struggling too it means our creativity is near zero.

Carragher has to take some responsibility with both goals too. His poor form continues. At least Skrtel was a lot better today. Everyone else was meh - alright, but not great either.

13 days until Sunderland at Stadium of Shite. This is now looking like a tough game, they have two centre forwards in form. Hopefully Agger gets some match fitness with Denmark during the International break.

Is it just me or when Ryan Babel came on he kept turning the ball over?

Complete waste of space in my opinion. Cant bloody control the ball, and when he does have the ball, the defenders force him into error.

Thought Liverpools better players today: Johnson, Gerrard, Kuyt (tried hard), and Benayoun provided the spark when he came on(looking back on the game he should have started)

Yeah, look how crap Man Utd looked yesterday against Sunderland (who were away from home).

I think it's safe to say we can rule Utd out of the title race.

Johnson was rubbish. Constantly out of position - did nothing but run into Ashley Cole all day.

Insua has fallen in a hole. I'm a fan, but Aurelio needs to be starting from here.

Skrtel had a pretty good game, Carragher hopeless as usual.

Liverpool held sway early but the longer it went without them scoring.....

The fact they had chances later shouldn't disguse the fact that a midfield with Lucas, Masch and Riera in it, is simply not good enough to cut it in the EPL.

He's still good defensively, but his attacking play isn't there anymore.

Probably the sheer amount of competitive games for such a young player. Give him a few games off (well, he has plenty of time off now with the international break) and both he and Aurelio will be staying at Melwood. :thumbsu:

If Dagger can get some game time with Denmark it would be good, hopefully just 30 minutes here, 30 minutes there and he returns to us a bit fitter.

Typical Man-Yoo fan has no idea about the sport but just backs the big names. Gerrard was useless all today bar one decent shot when the game was over. Johnson left us exposed a few times and was far from the best player on the pitch IMO.

Yeah. We need one consisting of Anderson, Nani, Welbeck and Fletcher IMO!

I gave up after Bennynoon missed, what did Gerrard do after that?...

Kuyt may have tried hard, but offered very little in attack, Johnno... well, not one of his better games.

I know this may sound harsh but I am seriously wishing Carragher gets injured soon for the benefit of the team. We need someone who doesn't make constant errors, yell incesantly at the other players and someone who doesn't just boot the ball up forward non-stop.

The sooner Agger and Skrtel play with eachother, the sooner we stop conceeding stupid goals.

There must be a trophy awarded at the end of each season for the defender with the most hoofs upfield.

But it only counts as a successful hoof if the defender wins the ball instead of the striker.

Riera, Gerrard, Torres, Johnson and Carragher all shyte.

Reina had a good game despite the two goals.

Skrtel was our best defender, Insua our second best (which is not saying much).

Lucas and Mascherano were alright. Kuyt worked hard, put some good balls in but also some very poor ones.

Benayoun was decent when he come on, and didn't mind Babel either.

Pretty much nothing went our way, that second half especially, but our defence is the worry and the lack of creativity also, which comes a lot down to Torres and Gerrard having a dirty day.

Can we get the robot back from Tottenham in January if we are going to continue to hoof it a million times each game?

Never was THAT good ( he is a bit like Gary Neville not a great footballer but nonetheless a club legend) but now clearly past it. Agger and Skrtel should play.

Yep I agree. He is fast becoming the Shane O'Bree of Liverpool - all talk and pointing but making so many crucial errors himself, and then coughing up the ball endlessly. Agger's return couldn't come quick enough...

I also think it's ridiculous when Benayoun doesn't start. He is easily our most creative player and is surely beyond being an impact sub now? I'd go as far to say he is our fourth most important player (behind Torres, Gerrard and Mascherano) yet he still doesn't start. Really annoys me.

I think we need to settle down a bit. We lost to Chelsea in a game I think we controlled for a lot of it. Chelsea just provided a couple more chances than us and capitalised on them. We didn't. Not much between it being the game it was and a completely different scoreline.

I think Masch was probably our best out there. Yep. Gerrard shite. Torres poor.

And Drogba is a disgrace.

Geez that was a disappointing effort. Should have stayed in bed.

Johnson and Insua were both poor. Was more disappointed with Johnson as he had a lot of chances to provide a good cross, but his delivery was woeful.

Skrtel was ok and Carragher average again.

Kuyt just isn't very good. Yeah, he tries hard and is a workhouse, but so what? I'd try hard if I was out there on the right wing for us too too. Doesn't mean I'd be any good. Benayoun should be starting on the right from now on -when he came on it was the only time we resembled anything of an attacking threat.

Very disappointed with Gerrard's effort, I thought after his fantastic efforts against Chelsea and Man United away last year he had buried his tendencies to be anonymous in big league games. He was dreadful last night.

Torres had a rough night, was always going to have the shit kicked out of him playing by his lonesome against Terry and Ivanovic. Of course

Pepe was ok I suppose.

Depressing that the only chance we created was that Riera free kick that surprised everybody.

Need teams to drop points and to get our act together quickly else we'll be a long way behind.

So disappointed. My best mate is a Chelsea fan. Copping a heap of sh*t today.

Why was Bennayoun not in the starting 11? As soon as he came on we looked a different team and actually looked dangerous. He was unlucky not to score. The first half was just lackluster.

We can’t expect Torres to score a hat-trick every week. He should have nailed that chance he got though later in the game.

The less said about Gerrard last night the better.

On another note I thought Babel was okay also.

Coffee all day today. Stupid Monday morning game.

Johnson, Torres and Gerrard had stinkers, probably 3 of our most important players out there.

I thought Skrtel was our best defender for the night, Carragher was useless again.

Why Benitez didn't have Benayoun in the starting 11 has got me ****ed. We actually look decent when he comes on with his creativity and flare, even looked like we might of scored a goal.

Mascherano and Lucas were alright but I really hope Aquilani (and Agger too) are fit for when we go to Sunderland in a couple of weeks.

A loss against Sunderland and we will be really pushing **** up hill if we aren't already.
