In these cases, it's different.

If Villa and Torres don't play this match, it's not as if Del Bosque will go into a World Cup with Negredo and Llorente starting up front...

they have been saying he would rather buy the club outright, and that he would pump money into the club but not just to wipe out the debt.
Thats right. He won't buy until enough of that debt is repaid and it becomes manageable.

But at the end of the day it would make no difference. The debt would be added back to the asking price at the end of the day, so he would just be paying more if the debt was eroded.

Why would an international manager care?

They get judged on winning games.
They get judged on how their team performs in major competitions.

Torres ought to be back at Melwood right now.

Btw, you're spending a lot of time on this thread. Glad to see you're now supporting us. :)

I mind it, considering Kuyt, Gerrard and Torres are now injured.

Fernando Torres trained with the Spain squad on Monday evening after a scan revealed no evidence of muscle damage.
The 25-year-old's own official website confirmed El Nino completed several laps of the pitch before having treatment with La Furia Roja's physiotherapists as Vicente Del Bosque's side continue to prepare for Wednesday evening's World Cup qualifier with Bosnia.

Torres was substituted during the early stages of the second-half in Saturday's clash with Armenia after reporting groin pain.

However, having undergone physio at the squad hotel on Sunday, an MRI scan gave Liverpool's No.9 the all-clear to join his teammates in last night's light training session.
So, Torres had a scan, which revealed no damage, so he'll start for Spain and pick up an injury.

Gerrard gets injured for England, stays with the squad, will play and get injured.

Kuyt was injured before he started for the Netherlands and aggravated the injury.

Well, it depends who you ask.

I'm either a Liverpool fan, or a Man Utd fan. Can I be both? :)

Babel and Riera are the same this season, bar one game against a dreadful Hull City side where I could have scored 8 goals.

Babel's second was an accident, so he cant even claim that. We were already 4-1 up and he scored his first, near 90 minutes, so the match was over.

Neither have done anything to warrant selection, but Riera over Babel any day of the week.
Both have been huge steaming piles of shit all season. Babel has shown glimpses like his cameo and assist for Torres' winner against West Ham was it?? And Babel was ok against Hull, although his second was just pure luck.

Riera has also been woeful. Surely our attacking 4 should be ...

Torres
Benayoun Gerrard Kuyt

That seems obvious to me.

the sad thing is riera and babel have so much talent but they are so lazy.

riera has more skill than anyone on our team, but when it comes to taking players on he is hopeless
He has excellent close control and pretty good trickery and skill but his work ethic since getting the call up for Spain has been atrocious. He also has very little pace and despite his tricks and skills, rarely takes players on. Id much rather Benayoun who runs at defenders and makes things happen.

No wonder we rack up so many posts in this thread. :p

Anyway Torres missed the 5-2 win in Bosnia, so hopefully he'll be right for Sunderland on Saturday - otherwise we're royally screwed.

And congrats to Marty Skrtel on helping Slovakia qualify for the World Cup - although he was suspended for this morning's win in Poland.

Looks like Cattermole and Cana will be having a field day against us. The Daily Mirror says that Gerrards injury will take around a week to heal and therefore he will miss the game against Sunderland.

Lucas and Mascherano wont have any time at all to recover from the long trips and so if they do play, they will be buggered.

Not looking good for us.

Lucas didn't play at all on Saturday, but played 90 minutes for Brazil overnight.

Insua wasn't part of Argentina's match day squad.

Gerrard and Torres obviuosly played no part for their country due to injury.
