He'll come back when he retires, absolutely no doubt about that.

San Jose wont get first team experience anywhere else in England's top-flight :p

He'll be a great defender when he matures and when given a chance, he's got ability and composure on the ball like Dagger has.

Surely with Sunderland being interested in Hyypia, Man City are too and are prepared to bid 61m for him?

Sami is playing regulary enough to keep him happy at the club I would have thought. It appears Carra is our 2nd choice RB, so if Arby goes down again he will play even more. He will also surely be picked in the revised CL squad. Can't see Degen keeping his place there.
So with LFC he will get to play out the season with a club he has been an integral part of, and have the chance to compete in the latter stages of the CL. Vs playing maybe a season & a bit for a rubbish club like Sunderland. I also believe he is in line for a testimonial game in the summer.
Sentiment or not keeping Hyypia is important, for him & LFC.
The thing Sunderland could offer that Liverpool probably wouldn't be prepared to is a long term contract. If they were prepared to give him 3/4 years (personally I think he's finished and wouldn't give him a season) then I could see the logic in him wanting to move on.

Back to my boy Sami (always been one of my fave players the big Finn). There is not a lot I can find anywhere about a transfer to Sunderland other than some Sunderland clown who posted on RAWK saying "his mate" knew and "his mate" was always 100% right, and a link to a Sunderland site where some other clown says he "got a text from a mate who said we were signing a Liverpool defender". Hardly gospel stuff. Just Football Managerish dribble.

But hey while we are playing I read last nite (while looking for more news on Sami) a couple of pearlers:

Rafa may walk before the end of the season if contract not sorted by next week. Rijkaard to replace him.
Keane going on loan to Celtic
Athletico want Reina, Alonso & Arby. Rafa interested in swap deal with Alonso & Arby, for Aguero. (or sale of Arby). But only if he can sign Johnson for 10 million GBP. Reina Hands off.
Barry will be a target if Alonso goes. (Again!)
Rafinha, Johnson, Capdevila & Heinze all RB targets.
Lennon, Bentley & Joaquin are RW targets.
Yanks 100% gone
DIC back in frame.

Fun isn't it!

We're gonna sign a distinctly average, not to mention pensioner CB/LB to play at RB?

That makes a heap of sense.

Its a good thing that the internet has been down at work this morning as it has given me time to calm down after this mornings game. I was pretty much ready to throw the tv out the window.

Rafa has pretty much gift wrapped the title for ManUre. The guy never learns. Its sheer madness taking off Torres with over 20 minutes left when you are only leading by 1 goal. To make things worse he does not even replace him with a striker!!!!!!!! Would love to know what the flipping formation was meant to be.

Then when Wigan score (WAKE UP RAFA!!!! They were making attacking substitutions while Rafa was probably thinking three games ahead) he presses the panic button and brings on Keane. Like wtf do you expect keane to do in 5 minutes? That move should have been made 20 minutes ago when Torres came off. Not only that he took Gerrard off who is usually our main avenue to goals. MADNESS.

Rafa has cost us around 12 points this year and its growing every week - through either his stupid team selections and/or substitutions.

Hull City (Anfield) 2 points

Wigan (Away) 2 Points

Stoke City (Anfield) 2 points

Everton (Anfield) 2 points

Stoke City (Away) 2 points

West Ham (Anfield) 2 points

Rafa has two days left in the transfer window - if he plans to use Keane as some sort of last resort then SELL HIM!!!!!!!

Well done to Yossi who had a ripper game but was substituted. If they cannot play out 90 minutes then sack the fitness people as thats a joke. He should have played the entire game.

jlc
If Rafa has cost us 12 points. How many has he gotten us out of interest?

When we lose or draw and drop points it's Rafa's fault. When we win it's all credit to the players.

Rafa is damned if he does, damned if he doesnt. Tough job, management.

I've been one of Rafa's biggest fans in the past, but my patience is wearing thin.
Me too.

His substitution of Gerrard after Wigan equalised was one of the most mystifying substitutions ive ever seen. Ever. There was all of 6 minutes plus injury time to go. Leaving him on for maybe 8 or 9 more minutes will make no difference to his fitness against Chelsea in 3 days time.

Yet he is the man most likely to drag us off the canvas and get a winner either from a long shot or a pass that breaks down their defence. Yet he takes him off? I didnt mind the Torres sub with 20 minutes to go, he has played a lot of football since returning and keeping him fresh for Chelsea was a good move. But why not bring on Keane?? I didnt get it.

Oh well... more points dropped. Were back in third and our goal difference blows compared to Utd's or Chelsea's. Out title hopes come down to sunday. We draw with Chelsea and United will be 7 clear and it's done and dusted. We simply must beat Chelsea.

Everton will be without Fellaini and Cahill too, no chance of them doing us a favour...

You're right though, we have to beat Chelsea and keep pace with United and we roll them at OT and go back above them.

Hyypia left out of CL squad.

Sicknote, wasting pile of shit Degen included again.
Well, Dagger isn't going anywhere then.

Now lets get that contract sorted.

Hyypia could well be off...

Degen is a very good player bus24, lets him give him a chance :D

No.

He's just a hack.

A hack on obscene wages, a permanent sicknote - He's worse than Kewell. Who was a ****ing waster I thought I'd never see beaten.

Degen must wake up every ****ing morning, in utter disbelief at the fact he's at Liverpool Football Club, earning over 60K a year on a 4 year deal.

It's ****ing unreal.

Even when you consider he'd played about 5 games in 3 seasons for Dortmund (through a mixture of injuries, and him being an absolute shithouse), and never played for ****ing Switzerland, except warming his lazy wasting arse on the pine.

Oh no! Splinter! 6 months out! Don't forget my fat pay packet though, or I'll raise hell!

He can **** off, the nuetral ****.

There was a :D on the end of my sentence for a reason!

Robbie Keane not at training, and boned from tomorrows matchday squad.

He's on his way.

Rumour is Defoe has a broken bone in his foot, so he might be headed back to Spurs.

Excellent news.

I've been reading rumours that Defoe could miss the entire season, he's been feeling the problem for a few days now and he's having scans on Monday.

Tottenham are thinking it's a 3 week injury but there could be a lot more to it.

See ya Robbie!
