fair enough, perhaps the man u boards will be heavily scrutinised for newbies signing up this season, or perhaps at the end of last season
Yep, it happens with anything resembling success. Even Tottenham when they won the league Cup, they all came out of the closet.

Bandwagonism isnt about who you support, its how you support them. If your notice of your club changes based on results, then you are a bandwagoner. Again, for those who have recently found the forum, I look forward to having more posters on here in this board.

your hatred of liverpool comes from where?
A/C hates Liverpool because he dosent like them. Everyone who dosent like Liverpool hates them, and everyone who doesnt like Man U hates them.:D:p

Ashley, You are reading too much into this mate.

This time of the year is a great time to be in the AFL boards because of Trades and drafts, always good to read up and keep an eye on things. My initial post was just to say hi, I didn't expect to be mauled by a teenager who supports Richmond??? Eagles??? and Whateva EPL team you follow. Truth be told i'm not much of a talker but love reading these boards because I don't claim to know every goings on at the clubs I support but there are alot of people on these boards that are very well informed and it's good reading a different opinion here and there.

Davey, I was born into a Liverpool supporting family. Do you struggle reading or do you just throw your opinion around alot without justification? Go start a West ham thread and piss off cause your opinion doesn't mean shite to me with all due respect.

and as for stoke being beaten by 8 goals, pfft. they have shown alot for newcomers and I fully expect a challenge tonight. Liverpool will have to be very very careful of the long throw, they have continuesly used it to great effect so far and I wouldn't be surprised if Hyppia or Agger get the call up tonight.

Fwoy, these criticisms aren't directed at those like yourself who cant post on this forum all the time. Neither is the fact that people follow Liverpool because of Mr X. Neither is the fact that people follow Liverpool/Lyon or whoever else because it was through an Xbox game, nor the fact that people might have soft spots for people like Oba or Cris and their respective clubs. Its when people begin posting more or less straight after a win against Man U that grinds my gears.
Mine was not an arguement, but an apparent agreement. I ignored Premier League for so long as I was an ignorant Aussie. Now I'm hooked by the game. I know that my kid will get an absolute learning in it, just like he will get in all things Richmond (poor bastard ).

I only posted because the Champions League game was on web stream only and some couldn't get on. Otherwise I normally stick to reading. I'm still an infant as far as being a fan goes and I know that. But I am learning more every day. I have learnt to well and truly hate Man U :D;)

The thing I like about this board is that it goes beyond AFL allegiances and concentrates on FOOTBALL allegiances. On an AFL board, I think that's pretty cool. I hate Carlton, but I can laugh off a dig at the Tigers from Djbril because he's a scouse...

I'm happy to remain a quiet observer, but I will make an effort to post after wins over Hull and Stoke :thumbsu:

I might add, I was also originally drawn to the club as Harry Kewell was there...it was interesting to see the hate towards the bloke from our fans...now he has gone, I've found so much more to follow the club for...

Onto the Football, I reckon tonight is a big game for the Reds. A game we should win, and a game that Chelsea and Man Utd would win. Important 3 points. We dropped two points in these sorts of games to often last year. To remain a challenger we must win tonight, and well.

Excellent post...

Im in a very similar boat. No football history in my family, or even my town I grew up in. (not one of the 3 pubs in town showed the Japan vs Australia matchin the WC )

Everyone starts posting and starts supporting at one time or another... thats fair enough. But I just hope that these kind of people hang around when the going is good and when it is not so good...

Anyway as CK said...

Torres is teh awesome!!1111!!1!!1!!1;)

I've set the tape but will hope to catch the game. Bad time for me at midnight. Will finish work around then and must decide to stay and watch or drive home and miss half an hour...maybe get two SEN updates on the trip home amongst Finey's Final Siren callers.

Anyway, start with Torres and give him a half or sit him on the bench for an extra week and only use if required?

Just out of interest, what's going on with Degan? Is he only backup, and is Agger gonna get a run soon?

This is the line up I would like to see tonight.

Reina
Carragher Agger Skrtel Dossena
Mascherano Alonso
Babel Gerrard Reira
Torres

But you just know RB cant leave Dirk out even though we should be really taking it to these guys on the attack so I expect Babel to come on as a sub for Reira. Woudln't be surprised if N'gog gets a gig either.

I think maybe Agger has fallen out of favour with RB so Hyppia may take his spot but we definetly need the height cover for there long throws.

I just wish RB had more faith in Babel to start, I really do think he is the key if we want to take the title home this season.

I'm curious about Agger. He would be starting but Skrtel playing so well, and you just can't drop Carra.

Got to start Torres tonight get an early goal then sub him off. Early goal crucial tonight.

Do you guys think that we should play full strenght tonight, or rest a few.

I'd like to see some players rested. Dirk Kuyt looked fairly knacked after wednesday, maybe a bit of a rest for him. Masch also.

I don't really care which of the centre backs play. Maybe give Agger and Sami a run.

Reina
Arbeloa-Sami-Agger-Dossena
Alonso-Lucas
Babel/Yossi/JP-Gerrard-Riera
Keane

I don't think Torres will start.

But in the end i don't really care. These are the games that we muct pull 3 points from.

Could be Suicide changing 3 of the back 4

If Torres doesn't play me thinks N'Gog will for sure.
Yeh it could be. Me thinks that one of Agger and Sami will play, and one of Carra and Skrtel will play, or maybe both, with Carra at right back.

On a side note, Gerrard could bring up his 100th goal for the Club tonight. Good on him if he does.:thumbsu:

I have no issue with banter mate, none what so ever and believe me, being a Liverpool fan the last 2 decades of banter have not been pleasant. After all I was 7 the last time we took the league out.

I will talk football all day long, be it negative or positive but you are just sayin Bandwagoner with no justification whatsoever. IMO a Bandwagoner is a recent chelsea fan considering they have all come out of the wood work since Roman came aboard but you still have to pass respect if those so called bandwagoners stick around thru the bad times.

The only Liverpool Bandwagoner around are the jokes who climbed aboard in the 80's and disappeared midway thru the 90's (There are alot, most probably call themselves chelsea fans now), IMO when you pick a side you stick by it, thick and thin!

I think I'd be playing Sami tonight. You can't drop Skrtel. Our best defender by a country mile. Carragher parhaps to right back.

Mascherano will be tired after playing for the Argies, then the United game, then in Marseille. Shouldn't be required in a game where we should dominate possesion.

Torres should be fit enough, I think.

Babel needs to play to continue to grow in confidence, but he played a full game in Marseille, so I wouldn't expect him to start unfortunately.

What I'd like to see...

Carragher - Skrtel - Hyypia - Dossena (if Fabs isn't fit - I assume he isn't)

Babel - Alonso - Gerrard - Riera

Torres - Keane

Am i right in suggesting that Reina's weakness as a goalie are crosses and judging when to come out and when to stay back?

If so Delap's throws could prove a massive problem for him.
