Am i right in suggesting that Reina's weakness as a goalie are crosses and judging when to come out and when to stay back?

If so Delap's throws could prove a massive problem for him.
I really do think he has put those weaknesses behind him but maybe it might be time for Diego Cavalieri to get a gig in goals. He did look the goods in pre season, a helluva improvement on damn Itandje!

I think Sami will get the go ahead but it really makes me think if he does get the nod ahead of Agger as our tall CB, Where does that leave Agger. He was superb 2 years back and since he was injured for the whole season last term he just hasn't broken his way back and now finds himself 4th choice. I really do see Skrtel and Agger being our first choice pairing for a good number of years and would playing Sami hold us back?

It'll be Sami's last season at the club and he's not in our Euro squad, so RB certainly sees Dagger as part of the future, he's still making his way back from the foot injury which kept him out for most of last season, he'll be right.

Reina
Arbeloa - Carragher - Skrtel - Dossena
Kuyt - Gerrard - Alonso - Riera
Keane - Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Agger, Babel, Benayoun, Lucas, Degen, Mascherano.

Decent.

Bit dissappointed no Babel.

But Rafa couldn't leave Kuyt out.

Your point?

Pay 3 mil for a keeper to never play.
No you pay 3 mil for a keeper to actually do a capable job if god forbid Reina ever got injured for a sustained period of time.

**** knows what we would have done if he got injured last year with Itandje in goal for 3 months. I've got nothing against him, a real good fella apparantly, but he just isn't good enough.

You don't pay 3 mil for a keeper to replace the world class one between the sticks at the moment, who's probably been our best player this season.

Well thats pretty much full strength, besides Masch. Agree, thought Kuyt would have had this game off, but maybe against Crewe.

Must win game and 3 points are a must.

Diego can play my friend, would like it if he held the ball more but he is very capable. Vast improvement on Charles and despite the fact I think he will get his go against Lower teams in Carling and FA i'm sure he would do a good job against Stoke.

Would I rather have him in goal that Reina, No way but I wouldnt flip out if I seen him on the team sheet.

Torres for a hattrick tonight!

meh.

400% possesion, but other than the laughable disallowed goal, we haven't threatened much.

I liked Riera alot in the Man Utd game, and I have't seen anything today to change my opinion. He's very good.

This game is crying out for someone like Benayoun I think. Has the capacity to break down the bus.

Hopefully we can get one early, and we should be home and hosed from there.

The game is crying out for Babel!

Keane is a waste of a position. Never happy we signed him and he proves me right week in week out.

The disallowed goal is a joke. No one was offside, me thinks the linesman is headed for conference next week.

Torres still looks a little off the pace. Compared to his usual standard anyway.

Geez it's frustrating the amount of times we've taken that one touch too many inside the box instead of shooting.

I agree that Riera has looked good again. Combining well with Doss on that left side too.

Kuyt off, will never do anything unless he is striker. Babel needed, and carragher go up the guts not always to the wing. We wont score from a cross or corner for that matter

Agreed, been impressed with Riera down the left. Something we have been crying out for.

Torres hasn't done much, but he is still not 100% fit i don't think. Keane is a waste. Has done nothing at all and i've been very dissapointed.

Bring on Babel for Kuyt, and hopefully he can produce something.
